Damn neither side is playing around here.

2 more days. I’m curious what number is being thrown around for the 1-year balloon deal.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Bona/Watford/Barlow
Embiid/Drummond/Broome

Grimes signed the qualifying offer. Means he's an UFA after the season and has a NTC. Just an utter butchery of this negotiating process by Morey. I hope Joshua Harris is paying attention because the incompetence within this organization just continues to pile up.

I feel like Josh Harris is moreso the reason Morey didn't offer more money which is even worse for this franchise.

[Charania] The Sixers' first formal proposal of the offseason came on Sept. 24 with a four-year, $39 million offer. Days later, Grimes was offered a one-year, $8.8 million deal that gave him $100,000 more than his qualifying offer in order to waive an inherent no-trade clause.

Pitiful. They wanted him to take the QO. Says even more that they didn't try to re-sign Yabu when this was the offer they were putting out there.

Seems like we are going rebuild mode with this decision. Probably Embiid is cooked and they dont wanna pay apron tax...

So we all know how this ends, right?

Grimes plays this year, looks great again. He signs elsewhere after the season because he's unrestricted. He goes on to his new team and continues to play great, and we look back at this as a really good player we let get away and completely screwed the pooch on keeping him around.

If Grimes played for about 25 other franchises it wouldn't go this way, but this is the Sixers. Murphy's Law franchise.

This was a disaster, but I don't know if this is solely the Sixers. Grimes will be on his fifth team in six years.

Pretty pathetic display from both sides, I've gotta say.

Most, if not all of the other teams with their contract standoffs found a way to resolve it amicably. Of course it's the Sixers one that ends in disaster. I'm just so sick of this team.

Risky move by Grimes. When Mccains gets back, he will be lucky to play 20 MPG... Sixers has no incentive at all to play him now, with Jared and VJ..
