Cade with another great outing. Cubs are I believe a season high 23 games over .500, and 4th best record in baseball. Can they win a round or two in the playoffs?

Cade is the best pitcher in baseball since the ASG. Looking like a real ace.

PCA finally waking up again.

MoBaller can flat out hit. So fun to watch him give us some much needed help.

The vets have come through… Happ, Dansby, and Horner. All are pro’s pros.

If we get Tucker back and we get hot we could make a run for the series.

Cubs pitching staff has the second lowest WHIP in all of baseball. They're #8 in ERA and have issued the fewest walks by a mile.

Their offense is still top 8-10 in most categories. One major improvement is that they've struck out something like the 5th fewest times.

I know some of those stats would look a lot different if you just looked at the second half, but still, it's pretty fair to say Cubs are one of the best 8 teams in baseball statistically, and of course in terms of the record they're top 4.

Shaw with a bomb!

Crazy how many Cubs have hit 20+ HRs this season
- Happ
- Dansby
- Tucker
- PCA
- Suzuki
- Kelley (17)
- Busch

Shaw will hit 20 next season with a full season.
Wonder if Amaya could hit 20 in a platoon?

Just when you think think the Cubs might be getting back on track, they lose 4 in a row to the Reds. In two of the games, they only allow a single run and still lose. This team is frustrating to root for.

Really need the lolcubs to win this game and take all 3 from the lolmets. can't be giving up a 2 run homer to alvarez

but the lolcubs are floundering lately aren't they. being swept in a 4 game series to the reds was incredible. but we need the con artist mets to miss the playoffs!

this wild card race is incredible. cleveland has come back from 15 games back to tie detroit. hoping the lolredsux are the team to fall out, but it would be quite funny if it was detroit

That’s more like it. Fly the W!

Tucker back Friday.
Palencia looked good tonight.
Horton full go for playoffs.
Shaw heating up.

If we can get one of PCA or Tucker to play to their ability we have a chance.

I was looking at Lenyn Sosa related stats earlier and found out at one of the only players in MLB who chases more pitches outside of the zone and walks at a lower clip is PCA. Could just never throw either guy a strike again.

Glad the Cubs crushed the $340mil Mets. AZ is in extras vs LAD, they could push the Mets out of postseason position with a W here.

Don't forget that Mo Baller is making a case to be the starting DH in the playoffs.

So glad they kept MoBaller. He’s the best bat in the org. Ridiculous natural talent to all fields. Reminds me of a Miguel Cabrera.

He better play over Suzuki if he stays hot.

Shota trying to reproduce his NPB HR/9 rate all in one game. Wait, I guess he's been doing that all month. It was inevitable.

Padres lineup is so imbalanced. Starting 5 left-handed hitters (including Gavin Sheets...) against Boyd is just goofy. Laureano is hurt but it's embarrassing that Sheets is his replacement. They don't have anybody else.

Start Shota tomorrow and the series is over.

Hey hey, Cubs win! Didn't have a lot of hope about this series, but getting game 1 is huge in a 3 gamer. Seya and Kelly supply the power, and the bullpen was lights out.
