He loses full Bird Rights if he's traded this season. A team would retain "non-Bird Rights", which allows a raise of up to 20% over the previous years salary.
If Kuminga finishes this season with GS, and then gets traded in the 26/27 season, he would convey with full Bird Rights.
I know you know this, but just pointing it out for others reading in the forum...
Good addition.
Dont see a scenario where kuminga gets a contract with more than 20% raise after two next seasons... almos 30M per year? He would have to be really hiding his game
I think it has been the coach who has been hiding his game. He probably won't ever be a great rebounder or shooter but he is still possibly a future 2nd best player on a good team.
Second best player in a good team is 30M per year, which is something he can be offered with non bird rights.
I think he hasnt shown all he can do with the Warriors, but this means he needs the ball to be in his hand to be the most effective he can, but If Kuminga is getting that, the team wont be competing much, like a poor man Demar(I like DDR for the record).
Weirdly, whenever a player fails to play well with a star that gets so much attention and can create off others, I find it hard to believe he will improve. I do think Curry carries so much gravity and can play so well off the ball that Kuminga wont find a better team with players that compliment him better, unless people think Kerr just doesnt know how to use him at all(I don't)
