It was 15 years ago so I let this stuff affect my life more, but yeah, I remember being annoyed there was too much on the line of having to play the Bears to get to the Super Bowl, and a devastating loss was multiplied by allowing them into the Super Bowl. Of course when you're on the other side, winning was 2x more fun. Similar on a smaller scale of Minnesota's one randomly good season and getting into the Rose Bowl/B10 title all while denying them their only chance in like 50 years to do such things.

If it was just the Cubs, it's early enough in the playoffs that they still likely get bounced after. The Counsell element adds more fuel to the fire.

Good call on the Bears/Packers NFC Championship. Very similar.

I do feel the Counsell factor and also feel like us losing NLDS will equal a hangover for the team and more fan apathy into next season, which I would hate to see. Not sure how many more 90+ win seasons with first rd exits we can all stomach.

Either team plays at Toronto, I'm not sure what the difference is. Complete schedule

Not really sure why that is the driver either. Must be something I’m missing.

Big to jump up 3. Hopefully can hold on as think Horton injury comes into play if go to Game 3 and have to roll out Rea or Taillon. Although Taillon has been better than Imanga this year I think.

I did a double take when I saw an intentional walk of a catcher to face PCA. But I think it makes sense.

Cease gets worse 2nd/3rd time through and can walk himself into hell there. Do or die game, you get in front of that and lean on your dominant bullpen.

PCA sucks against lefties. It worked.

The issue is if they win this one, we have to count on the corpse of Yu Darvish AND a tired bullpen to take them home.

Dotting the low outside corner with 104 is just ridiculous.

Some absolute filth there, but 6 for 6 on K's? He had 5 K's and hit a batter.

Even if the Cubs win tomorrow, at least it's guaranteed to go the full 3 games. That said, the winner will still only have 1 game over the following 3 days, so it's not like relievers won't be relatively well-rested for most of the Brewers series.

They were talking about both games. He ended up striking out the first 8 he faced before the HBP

AL teams will need 4 starters in the ALDS, NL teams will need only 3 in the NLDS because of the gap between games 1 and 2. It's going to be interesting to see who we throw out there for game 3. Haven't heard a peep about Woody, I'm assuming he's not available. Same with Quintana. Maybe Patrick/Miz or Miz/Patrick. :dontknow:

I hope BA does our series but I'm guessing he'll do Philly/LA
