Sac State is particularly weird, but what I'm most interested in is if this can get Shaq off TV. I loathe that guy.

Wild. Colleges are scrambling to get NIL deals frontloaded before the House deal kicks in July 1.

Also posted on the football board. This seems like a good bet on the the players.

Re: 25/26 College Basketball
Pearl is shady AF but I talked to him a couple of times when he was coaching here and he was very nice. He timed it right to give his kid the job.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Hes a college basketball coach, being shady is part of the gig. Damn good basketball coach though and his teams always played extremely hard.

Re: 25/26 College Basketball
I know someone who knows him well at Auburn. They know nothing about sports and have no reason to suck-up; they adore him and say he is one of the kindest and most sincere people in the community program they're both in.
I've never been pro or con on Bruce, but I trust their word. Seems like a good guy off the court, no matter what people might think of him on it.

Pearl is probably as slimy as you get from a college coach standpoint, but he's also about as likable as you can get, if you're willing to deal with the potential ramifications of his business

I've met Deon Thomas a couple times (google him and Pearl if you want to know that story) and know some people who know him and the impression I get from them is he wouldn't piss on Pearl if he was on fire

They claim its to keep the % of teams who qualify the same since there are more D1 teams now. But we all know the extra spots will go to crappy power conference teams and not mid majors or small schools

Think there is about 360 D1 Schools -- Yeah, instead of tinkering -- rank them 1-360 and lets get crazy. Wonder how Vegas would handle this betting wise?

That's exactly it.

I'd be fine if both of the following came with it
1) All Opening Round games were played by At-Large teams
2) The 8 extra spots would atleast go to 50% mid Majors
Unfortunately neither of those things will happen

Re: 25/26 College Basketball
The current TV deal runs through 2032. I can't read the article posted above, what is the new format? A 12 game opening round means 24 teams play an extra game and and 52 teams do not? The 12 winners join the 52 to form a regular 64 team tournament?

Correct. They are still negotiating with TV networks for the additional games. But there would be 12 "Opening Round" games consisting of 6 games between At Large teams and 6 games between the 12 lowest ranked teams
