No

Walks for Vlad would be a great outcome the way he performs in the playoffs

I got the Yankees in 3 or 4. It sucks but it is what it is. Will cheer for the Mariners to take them down in the ALCS

This is not a Jays fan forum
Some of you are resigning to a Yankees win
Jays beat the Yankees in the regular season
Jays win the division
Go Jays.
I off to the other board to join the true Blue Jays fans

My only fear is Coughman blowing it for us. I'm confident we're going to knock those bums around, even without Bo. Vladdy might even be motivated to hit the ball given that it's the Yankees we're facing.

Of course we’re in danger. Every mlb playoff team is in danger, it’s the playoffs. Maybe the Yankees power will dominate. Maybe their tendency to boot the ball around in crucial moments will dominate. I wouldn’t bet on mlb playoffs, but if I had to I’d probably bet NY, yeah, but then I’d have bet against almost everything the Jays have done this year. I kinda feel like we’re playing with house money in a way, just a shame that it probably puts off any chance of a ~ rebuild another decade. So I’m just enjoying w/e this is in the meantime, and am aware that we the kind of team that tended to upset our own stacked teams in the past.

Couldn't care less if it was Boston or NY. I think we matchup well against anyone.

So if I pick the Yankees to win, that means I am not a true fan? Have you seen this offense the last 4 weeks without Bo? It has been garbage. Thanks to the heroics of Kirk last home game, or it would have been the Jays playing Boston and eliminated by now.

Yankees have the edge with their Starters, Bullpen, and lineup 1 through 9 (especially with the Power). Of course I am hoping the Jays can defy odds again and beat New York. However, I just do not see it. Yankees will unfortunately take it in 4 Games. Just hoping for at least one playoff win (first one in 9 years).

It's going to be evident that this team needs another decade-long rebuild as soon as next season.

It's unfortunate that Bo was injured late in the season. Losing what was arguably our best hitter will definitely impact us. Hopefully, the team can come together and pull through. Our starting pitching and bullpen will need to perform exceptionally well for us to have a chance to win the series.

I dunno, I think we're in a pretty good position to rebuild on the fly regardless of how things work out. We've got a few cornerstone pieces that are with us long term (Vlad, Kirk), a bunch of cheap up and coming talent (Barger, Yesavage most notably) and some tradable veterans if next year is more similar to 2024 than 2025 (Springer, Gausman).

We have a free buy-out option on Straw if he doesn't perform next year, and while we do have Gimenez's contract to deal with, we also have oodles of money from the ownership if they want to buy their way into contention.

We're not in the best position in the league, but I think we're in a fairly good place for flexibility going forward if we want to be.

Even in baseball you want long rebuilds. I love it. Apparently the 2017 Jays team with aging, expensive talent and no farm system didn't need to be rebuilt. But this team that is much younger needs a massive rebuild.
