I get it, but trying to draw them offside only to then to take a timeout and hand the ball off when everyone knows your running it is beyond dumb. Mac Jones looked gassed anywaysazcatz11 wrote:Mr Swagtastic wrote:Absolutely dumb to go for that
Doesn’t next score win though if he kicks the FG?

Re: NFL Week 5 thread
Has it been concluded that Mac Jones > Stafford?
Game of QBs right?
In all seriousness, Rams lost to a B team mostly due to coaching, their kicker sucking, and a clutch Alfred Collins forced fumble. Several fortunate events went the 49ers way. Pretty embarrassing for the Rams though, that was an extremely depleted 9ers teams.

TNF is also weird. I don't put much stock in that game. Kyren Williams had 3 awful plays which clearly cost them the game.

And in the end, that will be their downfall.

Zero sympathy for bad kicking, we've had to deal with Jake Moody for two years, who Kyle Shanahan spent a **** 3rd round pick on.
imagine not only taking a kicker in the 3rd round, but THE worst kicker in the entire league, and then replacing him with some dude who was eating nachos on his couch last week and is infinitely better

But I feel like when you have one of these QB/Offensive gurus that can really maximize the QB spot. You’re basically gifting yourself 30-40 million dollars worth of cap space. You basically don’t have to pay anything more than 20-30 mil on a QB and still get high level QB play.
Just keep rolling with smart vets. Or you can make a move for an already proven elite QB (like the Rams did with Stafford).
But ya if I have one of those coaches, I’m never paying a massive contract for a QB, unless he’s proven to be one of those freak talents
Well that qb guru is the one that gave Purdy the contract. Apparently he sees something in Purdy he doesnt see in other quarterbacks. I think alot to do with Purdy's composure at the end of the games and playoff games.
Also I wouldnt put too much stock in Mac Jones' performance, it doesnt last long. Every back up qb Shanahan resurrected except for Purdy eventually gets figured out, Nick Mullens, CJ Beathard, Blaine Gabbert etc.
Said guru decided to put all of his eggs in the Trey Lance basket. Let's not give him too much credit.

That's for sure. I've got him in 4 of my other leagues.

It's kind of weird, but I have this strange feeling of faith that Gabriel is going to be okay to decent this Sunday. As a Browns fan, I can tell you that feeling doesn't occur often.

Re: NFL Week 5 thread
By the way, forget losing to TCU by 50 or getting blown of the field by UCF. Shanahan making Mac Jones look like a solid quality NFL player in four games is far more damaging to Belichick. He RUINED him.
