I'll buy a console but only if its got no fan sound coming out of it.
I was hoping ps2 has no fan sound, because that has nba2k12 at least, so I'd buy that.
But turns out ps2 has a fan sound according to google, so are there any consoles that don't?

Random post, lol. But google tells me PS1 is the last gaming system to not have a fan.

Nintendo switch and switch 2 can barely hear the fan. Xbox x and ps5 the fan sounds are low. The ps4 sounded like a jet engine. Lol.

idk, nba 2k8 was my favorite for some reason. Really like the defense and felt like the most balanced game to me.

This took me back. Are you aware of the corner 3 glitch? I’ve cheesed my way to many W’s because of it

Live ‘95 on the Sega Saturn is my personal favorite.

One on One: Dr J. Vs. Larry Bird. Spent so many hours on that game. Loved it when you shattered the backboard, and that little cleaner guy came out and grumbled at you!!!!

My favorite detail is that there are separate buttons for slamming and jamming. Sometimes during the course of a competitive, exciting basketball game, you need to be able to slam without jamming, or vice versa.

Kobe Bryant NBA Courtside 2 was an awesome game that fell through the cracks. The way you could control players, and the moves available, would change depending where the player you were controlling was on the floor. For example, you could back people down in the post and then you'd be able to use post moves. Anyway, very intuitive game.

NBA 2k5 with Ben Wallace on the cover along with NBA Live 2005 are my two personal favorites. Both were innovative and ahead of their time. I spent way too many hours on NBA inside drive 2003 as well. So those 3 would be my choices

I agree with everyone who voted for NBA Jam, but NBA Street Vol. 2 gave me the greatest thrill playing a basketball game ever, it was so revolutionary. NBA Street 1 was nice, but Vol. 2 brought it to a whole new level, amazing game, easy to pick up, and so much fun when you mastered it.
Nostalgia at the highest level right now

Also which ever NBA Live introduced the Slam Dunk Contest, that was fun too lol

Never played it, but I see they had Chick Hearn doing commentary in that game. Pretty cool.

I also enjoyed hang time more. Recently I found put hang time was just the continuation of nba jam. The same guys made it, the name change had something to do with licensing of the name nba jam which was the name of the all star weekends nba jam sessions. The league asked them not to use the name and they switched it to hang time.

I was trying to remember if I had the N64 or SNES version....turns out it was the SNES one. Was a nice track down memory lane and then I saw the value of those old games...I need to sell lol.

Man how could I forget about the NBA Street games. I used to spend weekends in dark rooms playing my sisters boyfriend's PS2 for hours. Both NBA Streets and Street Hoops were certified classics

It depends the PS2 model, the last edition of the ps2 fat and ps2 slim are very silent. the scph 50xxx and 90xxx models. For 2k12 get a ps3 tho, the later slim models and superslim models are very silent too.

Voting on this is skewed by people who only played the old games. 3D basketball games are so much better than 2D. The best ones imo are NBA street vol. 2, NBA 2k19 and NCAA basketball 08.
