Vladdy is bout to catch fire!

I hope the praise is as loud as the slander he's been facing these past few weeks.

Same for Santander. Can't believe some wanted him off the lineup, a proven HR-RBI threat. He could be a game changer.

Vlad Homer in his first at bat was a sight for sore eyes. Finally got the monkey off our backs and won a playoff game with this core.

At first I wasn't sure who Vlad Homer was.

Holy heck, what a game! Close and exciting until the late innings when the Jays just broke it open (and the Yankees decided to hang their pitcher out to dry in the 8th). Not quite sure why we threw Hoffman in, but that's a tomorrow problem.

Glad to see Kirky is getting hot at exactly the right time.

I think they wanted to see where he's at. He was awful for weeks now. Don't want to throw him into a save situation without knowing what you're going to get.

It boggles my mind that people still say he's just unlucky/small sample size. Dude has a 110 wRC+ over 61 playoff games now. This is the same guy who puts up 200+ wRC+ regular seasons in his sleep.

Like I said, he's the Clayton Kershaw of hitters. Arguably the greatest regular season hitter of all time, but he turns into a replacement-level player when the lights get bright.

Some players just don't have it in the playoffs. I remember David Price was the same way.

Going back a few decades, but Dave Winfield likewise. He finally got a flukey hit for us in a high leverage situation in 1992. Great guy, but sort of the anti-Reggie Jackson in October games.

That gausman pitch he swung at for strike 3 is not normally something he swings at. It was way low and outside.

Vlad has been horrible the past few weeks and has contributed nothing offensively in those games. It’s not slander if it’s true. If Vlad wakes up and starts crushing, of course he will get praise. People make it seem like we just want to hate on players when they’re playing well…

I’m still amazed at the fact a starter can be so good only having a closers repertoire… gausman throws 2 pitches and somehow people can’t touch him.

That SO of Judge earlier in the game with the bases loaded was ballsy. I think Gausman wanted to throw that pitch away from Judge with the count full. Kirk blocking that one pitch that almost got away was huge too. Giving up only one run in that inning was pretty impressive stuff.

Location and adjusting the speed of your pitches also helps.

It's great to see Nathan Lukes playing so well. Many have never heard of him before

One thing I've noticed about the Blue Jays when when the offense gets rolling it seems every hitter gets in on it. Every hitter is a threat that alone might be enough to overcome their less than perfect pitching
