That was in his NBA draft scouting report.

That's good news, as a complete rupture of the hamstring can be catastrophic for athletes. It's pretty rare that grade 2 tears need surgery. Sounds like it's a grade 2 tear, which means that it will be a long recovery. Having gone through similar recovery myself, with ramp up I imagine that Scoot doesn't see any action for a good long while. If the team is cautious, that could even put it past the New Year.

Yep, my guess - 8 weeks to resume bball activities. Guessing 10 to 12 weeks? :dontknow:

Impossible to know, of course...but yeah, 12 weeks would be what? Dec 22nd?

Knowing how long my grade 2 took to get back to running (which was about 4 months before I started to forget about it), and factoring in the fact that Scoot for whatever reason seems to take a long time to come back from injuries, I'd be willing to bet we don't see him on the court until January...which is close to the worst news possible.

I hope I'm completely wrong and we see him playing in games in November.

Given his young age and the top end treatment he will get from the med staff I'd guess he'll be playing at 6 weeks out from injury.

With respect, you could be right or you could be wrong. Why? It depends on the grade of the injury as to the time that it takes to heal (as well as the treatment). And then you have a return to "basketball activities" before you actually see the court, right?

They have just upgraded the timeline from 4-8 weeks to 4-10 weeks. And that is with no setbacks to resume basketball activities.

What I am hoping for is that they don't rush him back and let him fully heal... but that may very well be wishful thinking.

I'm not that worried about Scoot's injury history. I'd be more worried if it were chronic knee issues.

But it's been different parts, shoulder, ankle, nose, abdominal...

And and his age, he's still not really at his peak in terms of muscular strength.

Sure a single area injury is no good…but it’s also never a good sign if your 21 year old can’t seem to go more than a month or two without some injury that forces him to miss time.

I dont trust anything with this training staff. They seem to air on the extreme side of caution without fail
