I'm pleasantly shocked! I guess there's probably not much to lose in giving it a go?

Word is that Priester is not a given at all today. They'll see how Ashby does and then make a decision in the flow of the game from there. Perfectly good chance they'll use Misiorowski, Quintana, and/or Gasser early instead. Personally I would rather give Priester several innings in a home game than save him for game 3.

Game 1 was the easiest one. Peralta vs. an under-rested Boyd. If the Brewers give up 3 HRs per game, fail to score against Civale-level pitching, and need a Hoerner error to score nearly half their runs, they probably aren't advancing. I would not feel great if they lose this one.

Great news about Chourio! (And one more thing I’ll still be nervous about, which I didn’t need lol)

I don't trust Miz. Have to have a 3+ run lead and a very short leash.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Greg Council trying to counter Ashby. Tucker is extremely split-resistant and Happ is a switch-hitter, although he's much better as an LHB, so nobody will hit as an LHB who actually struggles against LHPs until PCA. Is it too late to change the lineup card? Did the Brewers have to announce Ashby before the Cubs submitted their lineup, or do teams submit lineup cards simultaneously to make it a guessing game?

No idea why Busch isn't starting. You could get around him facing Ashby by dropping him in the order and even if we go to Quintana there's really no split there.

I imagine Murph is thinking the same thing and giving it a wry smile as we speak. That said, I think it's reasonable enough to give Turner 1-2 PA's against Ashby, just to keep him involved a little.

Really don't know what to think about this being a full bullpen game.
