Not sure what to think of this

I get the instant reaction to say **** Shams and its all BS but I think this is the most real it's ever been. If it's true which I think considering everything it probably is, he has given another team name he would be happy to go to and the teams, if only briefly, talked actual trade terms about it.

We are in the endgame now, 2026 is absolutely a crunch year if Giannis stays here for the next few years.

There's nothing real here. I'm sure the Knicks called, and I'm guessing everyone does. However, the idea that Giannis, after the disaster of the Dame era, would have the slightest interest in ever playing with another ball dominant PG is laughable.

That was my thinking about it.

I generally don't read Shams stuff, but this is the closest to a suggestion that he might ask out that I have seen. Which makes me quite nervous

If Giannis truly believes that he should ask out. If this is garbage he needs to call out that moron. This isn’t fair to the Bucks organization. The article makes it seem like the Bucks have done him wrong all these years which is frankly hogwash. If he really wants to go to the Knicks good luck with that situation.

As much as it hurts, this is probably real. If we get off to a slow start, I’m expecting an in-season trade request.

If I was requesting a trade that would screw a franchise for a decade or more, the literal first thing I’d do is move my wife and kids half way around the world.

Then, I might be all cagey, contradict the owner, and skip all camp to hang out with the fam more. Maybe even fully invest myself in my national team to keep my mind off of it.

Anyway, I hope he’s not checked out like LeBron was in that series after he decided he was going to leave Cleveland. Hopefully, we come out gangbusters.

Didn’t realize he moved his kids to Greece full time. I guess he is on borrowed time in the US then. Maybe Horst should trade him. I hate this timeline

I read the article I find it difficult to believe it. There is no way Giannis stays away from his family and there is no way he snubs 50 millions per year that he is paid playing in the NBA. Most probable is he made some arrangements so that the property he has in Greece is more of a second home than a holiday home. He already spends many months every year in Greece

2 things

1) If the Knicks actually believed Giannis was attainable they would have done an "all out chase"

2)I do think we are a lot closer to Giannis asking out than we've ever been, we don't have a championship roster, and now his family no longer lives in Milwaukee

Edens talking about a June meeting Giannis doesn’t recall is absolutely untenable in this context.

Mariah moving the family out of Milwaukee isn’t great either.

This Shams article reads to me like Giannis was pissed how the Bucks handled media day.

Why else would people in the know be turning up the heat at the start of the season talking to Shams? Giannis had an opportunity to say Shams’ reporting wasn’t true (and he could say so still) and went the opposite direction.

We’ll just keep the thread title as it is and pretend this is all fine.

I'm so over this Giannis drama. Either you're with us or not.

Shams and the media won't stop but Giannis does nothing to dismiss it, and it seems like he's got one foot out the door but wants to save face to the fanbase.

Just as much as people say Giannis putting the pressure on the front office is good, you can also make panic moves that blow up in your face if you're working in an environment where your best player is considering alternative moves and you constantly have to hope the other shoe doesn't drop and he asks out.

Eh, I don't get worked up about future events. One day Giannis won't be a Buck ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Giannis moving the family to Greece was the sign that things are all but over in Milwaukee. With nothing tethering him to the town he's gonna be free to play wherever he wants. Hell, an East coast team means shorter flights to Europe.

Giannis' time with us is a treasure. And its going to end some day. I guess I don't see what obsessing over when that will be in the here and now does to enhance or enjoy what we still have.

Of course it's going to end. But I'd rather it not end with him screwing over the franchise and we don't get diddly squat to work with moving forward.

And I'd honestly have more respect if he just came out and got it over with instead of doing whatever this is. It's just creating sour tastes in everybody's mouths. Stay or leave, but don't pussyfoot around.

I’m not sure how he’s going to deal with his wife and kids in Greece all season. And that doesn’t change whether he’s in NY or MKE. The flight time differential doesn’t really exist since the routes shoot north anyways to take advantage of the circumference of the earth. And arguably he’s flying private anyways.

Now he’ll have only Thanasis and Mom with him in Milwaukee this year. We’ve lost our anchor (i.e. the kids being here)

Just need to hope for a miracle the team is a contender.

If his kids really are going to school in Greece then he isn’t long for the US anymore. Which makes sense if I had the means and had some roots in another country I would for sure put my kids in a foreign school just for their safety.

The thing about the ESPN article that makes no sense is the timing. The article is saying Giannis didn't ask for a trade in July when pressed and the whole league was watching but then he hatched an exit plan mid August. That makes no sense, and his representation is too smart to let him pass a major opportunity to move on if that is what Giannis wanted. I think there is smoke and fire about the six month window on the extension, which I don't fully understand. But it seems like Giannis is prepared to play the first half of the season here hoping to have a contending team around him, and if not, he wants to move on to an organization that will pay his super max and have a strong plan to contend.

The good news is it seems like he's all in on getting to the finals, here in Milwaukee. The bad news is Horst has built a **** team around him (I like our approach, just wish we had better players).

He gone
Bucks tricked me into being a diehard in 2001, LeBron is the 2nd best player ever, and pizza is awesome.
