The Greek site that posted about his family moving to Greece, is a trash site. Either it's true or not, i agree that this is not related to a potential trade request, how could it be? More of an indication that he wants to leave NBA it seems and play in Euroleague, than anything else. But this looks irrational to me, leaving so much money on the table. UNLESS he can't stand anymore all this NBA pressure or something like that. Don't forget that after the bubble, he said that he thought about stop playing basketball because he felt worn out.

If i had to guess, i would say that this whole conversation about a potential trade-which, i repeat is not related to his family moving to Greece- could be Giannis pressing Bucks organization to trade this 31 first round pick+Kuzma for a good player, in order to maximize his chances for another championship. I am not justifying this "blackmail", i am just saying it's possible. He already did it with Dame. He knows that his window is short. So maybe that's what his silence about this trade conversation, implies.

Ultimately, I do not think they'll trade Giannis this season.

Next summer is the turning point. The Bucks will have a 26 first and their own 31-33 firsts. That's three firsts plus a pick swap (and other swaps-on-swaps). They could probably turn that into a pretty damn good player - that is, if Giannis extends.

Yep. Playing in New York or LA makes it virtually no easier to play while your family is in Greece than it does in Milwaukee. I could certainly see him preferring they grew up there, but in terms of basketball I don't think it indicates much, unless he plans on playing overseas way sooner that we would think.

Giannis has been doing nothing but mentioning how much he likes the turner signing n thinks this team has gotten faster n better.He thinks tery can compete.If im giannis im still pissed about 2019 mega gag when they were healthy.Dont get his feelings toward last 3 years when either hin midds or dame didnt play in round 1.No one knows how bucks do with a healthy squad

No reason to think there's any greater chance he does that in New York than in Milwaukee, and if he leaves and fails to do so in the former his legacy is probably diminished versus just staying in Milwaukee.

Then he would have to wait two years to go there because I am not trading him there for no unprotected 1st round picks which the Knick’s don’t have since they gave them all for bridges. Only way I trade Giannis if he asks to be traded and then it’s yo the highest bidder

I've been to a few road games and have seen his family in the stands, so I assume they travel with the team, in a lowkey manner, quite a bit.

With the oldest about to start school, I'm guessing he wants the kids to be immersed in the greek culture and language from a young age. It's something that can't be replicated with greek tutors or staying a month or two during the offseason.

I think Giannis has moved his kids to Greece so that they have a root in the culture he grew up with. Or it may even be a short term move for 6 months or so; the kids are so young.

Shams reports in that story when Horst and Giannis met in July giannis was happy and commited to the team.

Yet shams continues to push a false narrative just to farm clicks.

My sports fandom has taken a dip as I've gotten older. I still watch every Bucks/Brewers/Packers game that I can. I can honestly say though that if Giannis is gone I think my Bucks fandom could easily slip further and further away into eventual nothingness. I just have no confidence they'll ever luck into another guy like Giannis. They won a title off his greatness and in spite of themselves. A competent org has multiple rings with the guy. I am forever grateful for the title. Top 10 moment in my life. But when the freak goes, that might be a wrap for me. Not out of protest or anger, but likely just consistent building apathy.

I don't know. We had the best team in the league for like a four year stretch. It's hard to win a ring normally but add in COVID/Bubble/Riots, back injury, dames Achilles, blowing a 2-0 lead in ECF, etc. it's not like we were the KG wolves. The team made some bad moves but also tried making good movies and threw a ton of money into the pot every year. Half the mistakes were compromises to keep Giannis happy.
