Something tells me if we didn't waste 5 picks on Bridges, we could have gotten Giannis by now. :nonono:

As bad as the Bridges trade was I doubt it. I don’t think Milwaukee is ready to trade him and go into a rebuild. They are probably coming to terms but just aren’t there yet and it will likely another failed season for both parties to accept the inevitable breakup

Sign and trade Mitch + hart + filler

That’s it. No deuce. No OG. No Mikal. No KAT.

You trade for him if it's not more than 1 starter, like KAT + Josh or something like that, if you're trading KAT + either of OG or Mikal for him you're not winning anything. Depth is just as vital to a winning team now as star talent.

then you don't want the trade, which is fair, because anything outside of kat and one of og/mikal isn't happening. even then it sucks for them.

There’s absolutely no way Leon is trading both KAT and Mikal / OG

Losing his athleticism by 35 or 36 doesn't mean he will lose his height or his footwork or his defensive instincts or his playmaking and passing. He can pretty easily become a center by then. Better than KAT even without the athleticism. We're talking about a top20 player in the history of the game now.
Plus, Giannis is 30. Not 35.
If i were the Knicks, this is a no brainer.
The problem is that even a KAT, Anunoby, plus whatever player package still won't make it happen unless Giannis demands the trade.
The Bucks can get a galore of picks if he opens up his list.

Let’s see how far his transcendent talent takes the Bucks this year. He’ll be 33 making 62M when his contract expires, which is a lot for someone that can’t shoot. Players that can shoot age more gracefully. I’d like him on the team to complement the core, not replace it.

The key to all this is Giannis needs to ask for a trade specifically to the Knicks and force the Bucks hands.

If that happens Mitch, OG & fillers should be enough to get it done.

oh he's leaving...he just sent his wife and kids out of Milwaukee he knows he's gone and wants to win.

Now the question is does MIL come to us with a reasonable offer and re-engage...or does MIL just hold out and hope Giannis gets desperate and opens up his willing teams to more than just the Knicks.

We have a very good team with very good players. We can wait this out, and if we get to the finals, there’ll be no pressure to make a trade. Let Giannis and his agent fight it out with Milwaukee.

Hopefully this does drag into next summer and Castle doesn’t take a step forward and Harper isn’t it cuz it might knock the spurs out as a suitor. The hawks would be really interesting spot for him too and you probably could build a package around Jalen Johnson. Giannis KP front court would be pretty lethal and Trae would average like 20 assists does giannis was Trae as his perimeter Star? Don’t think we’d stand a chance at an offer from the Thunder and rockets but we’re probably in the ballpark

It all hinges on him wanting to be here and nowhere else. Those packages don’t matter if he says I’m not signing an extension there

KAT + Hart (or Mitch) + a load of picks (ie whatever we can reasonably trade) and you got a deal...

That anvil didn’t stop the raptors into not making the Kawhi move. There’s also teams that will be sure that they’ll be able to talk him into staying. Hopefully that threat is enough to keep the bigger suitors away but idk if that takes everyone off the table.

even in what people consider the biggest rip off in recent history, the luka trade, they mavs still got a perennial all-star, an unrestricted first and a young player without hearing from another suitor. you're not getting the 3rd best player in the league for a couple of role players. i want this thread locked. most of you should not be able to talk about these kind of things. you're not serious people.
