I see no reason for TOR to trade for Young if Scottie is going out. Now, that likely makes it DOA for ATL but this leaves TOR with a very middling, treadmill level team (Not much different from where they are now IMO - but with 2 less FRP to build and no youth of note).

Young, IQ, RJ, BI and Poeltl is just not making noise at all IMO. Not to mention Young as a super heavy on-ball player is really not going to love being next to IQ, RJ or BI - all guys that are usage heavy and dont really make their lunch money off ball / cutting to the rim.

This is a ludicrous trade. Im not the biggest Scottie fan, but what is the point of this deal? To go all in with Trae/Ingram/Poeltl?

And that's beyond the value. Trae is just not worth this much

Hawks pass.
Hawks already have their PF in Jalen Johnson, so don't need Scottie.
Trae has a team with size, speed and defense...Hawks will see it play out.

I see OP didnt put the reasons for both teams in OP, probably because it makes no sense for both teams

I think there are trades that make sense for Trae to Toronto. But the OP seems like a decent overpay. And Atlanta should prefer picks over Barnes/CMB since they have Jalen/Zac..

That’s a lot for Trae and why would Toronto not include Quickley instead of Barnes

This is an insane valuation here. Barnes, a decent young player and 2 picks for Trae is insane. I’d imagine that Barnes has more value league wide even.

You could argue Barnes for Trae straight up. ATL would probably decline though because Trae fits the roster much better. They’re built for his creation and the rest of the team covering him up. If TOR made an absurd offer like this, then I guess they’d have to take it and either experiment a bit with Barnes running point for that team or just flip home elsewhere for additional value an/or better fit. But that’s not dealing in the real world because, again, this valuation is wild.

It really doesn't make sense for Atlanta. Leaves Atlanta without a starting level point guard and creates a lot of positional problems (Barnes isn't starting over Jalen at the 4, Dick isn't starting over Dyson at the 2). It feels like it is a hodge-podge of players for Atlanta who don't really fit with the current team build.

Yep low effort threads rarely lead to good discussion. Some people tried, but without the OP providing some guidance for why these teams should proceed here, I think we can shut this one down.

OP, feel free to re-post making sure its CBA legal and you justify why each team should consider your idea.
