As much as I'd obviously love it, Warriors don't have the assets to be competitive for Giannis. But if Turner becomes available I'd love to make a move around Kuminga + other assets for Turner

I think that would be a great fit.

I've been on the Turner to GSW train for a long time...a Draymond/Turner frontcourt would be stifling defensively

Would the Jazz have interest in Pritchard for Kessler?
I don’t know that he fits thier goals but that seems closer in a value sense

I like Pritchard, but I wouldn't trade Kessler for him and don't believe the Jazz FO would either. I don't think that it's remotely close in terms of value.

emended

If we get a Phoenix pick I will drive from Fresno to drive Kessler to the airport. I love him, but this is a ton of value. Boston should cut Utah out even if it doesn't solve their tax issues.

Yeah two pretty good firsts (and a decent rotational center in Capela) is a huge haul for Kessler. I don't see Boston or Houston making this deal though.

Obviously not giving an unprotected pick from a terrible team for that.

In a related development, JD Davison absolutely balled out in his first preseason game with us, so now he gets thrown into the mix as a potential replacement.

on a related note Dwight Powell dominated the World Champs and then Cisse came in and did the same so Dallas has 5 starting level centers, let the bidding war commence.

Or am I mistaking how a few minutes of action against the Thunder G-League squad works?

For regular season minutes I think it would be fine. I wouldn't be excited to have him on my team, either, but there is enough spacing on the roster to make minutes with Westbrook work.

I don’t think it’s a great fit, but I do feel like Russ to Houston is inevitable. And honestly at this point if I’m Westbrook I’m waiting to sign anyway so I can get a good role.

He’s 36, made a lot of money and has had a really good careers. Why in the world would you want to go to some team where you’re not going to play much or play for some bad lottery team

Worst case with Houston is he’d be a key backup who plays quite a bit this season, best case for him he might even start

There’s a reason some of us were bullish on Dallas chance this season.

OKC need to wake up. Last season is over.

Westbrook would be a worse version of Jalen Green in Houston. I think they should be behind players like that. Their offense is really reliant on their synergy with Sengun, and their two playstyles don't mesh. It was evident by the end of his Nuggets tenure that he's not a seamless fit with a point center nor has any juice to be an offensive engine.

I don't think the Rockets or KD want that taking up a roster spot. Good on KD for looking out for Westbrook and keeping his name alive, but this isn't a good place for him.

JDD can flat out play. He was the G league mvp. Still pretty young.
He needs to learn to be a passable defender at his size to stick in the league though. Best of luck. I wish the Cs could have found a way to keep him….but also ok with moving on.
I think being playable depth at PG is a more realistic hope than him being a replacement for Lowry though.

I think Russ on a min is fine insurance for any team.. even if he ends up not working at all and only playing minutes Sengun is out.

Houston's a good fit for Russ because his biggest weakness is missing shots and their biggest strength is offensive rebounding-- first-shot misses should hurt the Rockets the least in the league.
