Maybe Barnes role on offense in the starting line up is to be a better Chris Boucher? Hustle/get offensive boards with occasional C&S 3s and dominate on fast breaks/transition

Well the conundrum is that Scottie has by far the best court vision on this team and is likely the best overall defender as well. When he’s focused he’s a huge momentum changer. But he’s not a good enough scorer or penetrator to really take advantage of his gifts as a playmaker. And all this makes him an enigma in terms of how do you use him.

He needs to learn how to shoot and finish through contact but…those things just aren’t coming for whatever reason. He comes back in better shape every season and his handle has improved somewhat but his ability to recognize and capitalize scoring opportunities just hasn’t evolved nearly enough.

If we were prioritizing winning, he's probably the 5th option out there offensively in the starting lineup with his current skill set. More of that Draymond role where he touches the ball just to give it up quickly and getting occasional mismatches in the post when they are available.

Similar to his rookie year honestly. He got to 15ppg with oreb putbacks, being a beast in transition, bullying smaller players, hook shots around the basket etc.
