Ware outplayed Wembanyama tonight.
I don't think this is something minor or random.
He is a real talent.
A seven footer with fast feet and bounce and can score the ball.
Ware is the real deal for Miami.

Additionally Jakucionis seems the best pg of Miami.
This kid knows basketball and he makes the right decisions.
He will be the starting pg soon.

Wiggins and Adebayo were bad.
I don't give too much weight on it because it is preseason and and they seemed to have slow feet.
Wiggins is bad in every preseason in his entire career.

But Wiggins my man, come on how you can get blocked 3 times every time you face Wembanyama?
You have to fake on layups, create space or avoid to shoot close to him.
I can understand it the first time but every time is unacceptable.
You have to adjust or else it is like saying to Wembanyama please block me

This was the very good version of Kel'el. It was night and day compared to the last time out, from an intention, aggression and motor perspective. Hopefully Spo's message is getting through. We need to see this version, every night. That's what it takes to be an elite player in this league.

I aint on the Ware bandwagon after one game. Let’s see him play well for at least 1/3 of a season before we even serious consider him being a good player. I do want him to succeed though. Just being realistic. Been down too many roads of hype to jump on a the first bus without much data.

It is far and away the most useless stat in basketball. I can't stand it.

Mitchell / Smith / Jakucionis
Powell / Larsson
Wiggins / Jaquez
Adebayo / Jovic
Ware

As a 9 man rotation. If we start Ware, we need Davion to start for the extra ball handling and creativity. If we start Niko, I'd go with Dru as the nominal starter and bring Davion in off the bench.

If starting Ware, Niko then can run the 2nd unit, with Dru/Pelle/Larsson as secondary ball handlers. Big man minutes get eaten up between Bam/Ware/Niko in totality.

I like the idea of Jovic coming off the bench. With the starters, he's really just relegated to stretching the floor.

Where's Davion's non-shooting ass at? don't think I've seen him play in preseason (albeit because I haven't been watching)

Exactly. A solid bench player can have great +/- playing against scrubs.

He needs to be the lead guard for the 2nd unit IF this is a developmental season like Spo said. There’s no justifying Dru over him if that’s the case, he looks like a legit PG with these passes/reads. No one else on the team is doing this stuff

I have never figured out if it's good or bad to come out as a coach and say...it's a development year For everybody... Does it mean that you know your team is not very good? What does it do to experienced players?

Or is it positive that everybody should look for??
