A new proposal on Hornets SI again promotes trading for Gafford, using Green, Salaun and Dallas 2027 first round pick. Probably neither team would do that. Dallas knows he’s likely worth more of a return. Jeffie loves his TJ, so can’t see him giving him up. That 2027 pick? It’s a dog, not likely to be even top 20, in a HORRIBLE projected draft class. Would prefer to include a different big like Williams, but if it takes Salaun I’d gladly do this deal. Article linked below:

What’s your opinion on Sabonis? I think we’re gonna be hard sellers at the deadline and might look to trade him

Sabonis is exactly what our offense needs.

Our defense will probably still be trash even if you put prime Hakeem in the middle, so screw it

I’m sure he would help, and would trade some role players for him, but wouldn’t include a first round pick. Not sure who within the Hornet’s panicked and signed Plumlee too early, but suspect it was Clifford’s influence on that debacle. There were still other options out there.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Yeah if we looking for a quality center Dallas would be the team to call.

Gafford would be cheap and makes a great fit with LaMelo as a lob threat.

What I like about Sabonis is that Moose could play alongside him.

Sabonis is a great target for multiple reasons. One of which is that Sacramento is very dumb.

So Ware started on the bench for Miami, has the 2 big system been shelved?
Ware killed it off the bench, might be worthwhile monitoring to see if it does make Bam expendable.

Spo hates Ware, no way he is moving Bam because he thinks Ware is the man. If they move Bam it will be because they finally rebuild a bit.

Miami is at the end of the road with the team they have now. Their fanbase is openly speculating about trading Bam and hitting the reset button. If the Heat struggle to start the season and this team is playing well a big trade for Bam could definitely be in the cards.

I'm really interested to see if we target Hartenstein, I doubt OKC keeps him on that contract once all their extensions kick in.

Thunder are trying to repeat and still in a good spot financially so suspect they will keep Hartenstein for this season. They will probably need to let him walk in free agency next offseason when the Chet and J. Williams extensions kick in though. They already have a ton of future draft capital so there's really no reason to deal him this season while they are trying to win back to back rings.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to trade for Ware. He was one of the targets I wanted in the draft (as the target of the rumored trade back opportunity of several spots for a team wanting the 6th pick). Ware is better than any center on this roster, was a far better pick than Tiddy. I’d send them Plumb and the 2027 Dallas 1st rounder. Might even send Moose instead of Plumlee if that’s what it took. Ware and Kalk would be work nicely.

We can offer Miami their own 1st back to them. If Ware is who we hope he is, anyway

We need Bam more than Ware. If we trying to change the culture go get Bam who is from NC.

If Kon proves to be a legit building block I would even entertain Miller in the deal to get Bam.

Since we’re on the verge of starting the new season, thought I’d queue up a question sure to be asked after about 12 games in;

WHAT TEAMS HAVE EXTRA CENTERS WE COULD TRADE FOR?

I hope I’m wrong, but here are my predictions: Moose will be good but not able to hang with the vast majority of starting centers we face. Kalk will try hard but he will get understandably exposed as a rookie who is largely too slow to compete in many game situations. Plum will display his experience and help at times but far too often display his age and stage (none of which are helpful).

Lastly, will Jeffie and company even TRY to do anything that soon or just ride out another difficult losing season?

im more interested in finding a trade for a pf type than another true center.
1. tiddy sucks
2. miles insurance
3. grant insurance
4. easier to trade miles if deal comes

best case scenario is finding a combo PF/C, or a stretch 5 that Moose can play next to
