Can't trust these guys until they finally put the nail in the coffin.

My exact thoughts. I didn’t expect to sweep so I don’t know why my anxiety level has gone up by the hour with the thought of this thing going 5 and them having the momentum. I think it almost worse that ended up with some gold opportunities last night to win when it looked pretty bleak after inning 1. The dlip is the Cubs were lucky to get out of that one last night with a win and barring a gem by Boyd, their pen should be a little taxes whereas we have are prime options on 3 days rest. Its a matter of scoring runs.

This. Ironically I would have probably felt better had the Cubs just come out cooking and beat us like 8-2 or something. But we had so many chances to close this series out last night and the offense just couldn't capitalize. We've been the better team this entire series for all but one inning. Need to put these guys to rest tonight.

I mean the only reason to NOT start Freddy is the home/away splits, right? Feel like everything else should point to him being regular rest, he is the ace, you can save the inexperienced guys (Miz, Gasser) for home game if needed. And right now I have most faith in Chad Patrick for extended bullpen innings and guessing he is unavailable tonight. I feel he has looked really good.

I'll be honest - I'm so used to the Brewers crapping the bed in October that I'm not that nervous about this.

I thought Alonso’s bomb was the biggest nut kick I probably would feel. Blowing this would equal 2014 NFC Championship Game territory.

Cut the crap. Freddy needs the mound, and we can't do bull with Lockridge or other cutesy crap. Rip their hearts out tonight.

The biggest nut kick was blowing Game 7 at home against the Dodgers in 2018. We very easily could have won that series at several different points, and that was a team that could have won it all. I don't think our boys last year even make it to the NLCS.

This is all true. That without recency bias was certainly worse.

Lets hope Freddy has a gem in him. Would love to see at least 6 strong innings and hand it off to the pen. Its going to come down to driving in runs when get opportunities. If the sticks show up, think we will be alright.

Is it really at 8:08? Does anyone remember the 80's when Reitman and Miller (94WKTI for the youngins) would say every morning "it's 8:08, that edible time. You should be eating something right now"? That's all I can think of. Good times on the way to elementary school.

I'd be the same way if it wasn't the cubs. Can't take blowing 3 clinching games against that lot.

I see they're going Boyd again, so a Game 1 rematch. Have to get this one.

MickeyDavis wrote:Unless Yelich has some back stuff going on we are unaware of he needs to be in LF tonight.

If he does have back issues, then you have to strongly consider waiting for the right moment to use him as a PH. I know he got 2 hits against Imanaga, but he's otherwise been bad against LHPs this year. You have to DH Chourio against the LHP, and you have to have reliable/healthy defense in the deepest corner outfields in baseball. If that means 2 fewer PAs against an LHP for Yelich, I think that's fine.

Enough with the nut kicks. Remember the good times, even if you aren't old enough to remember.

Frelick is 2-11 and Turang 2-12. Need good games from them.

Turang has looked absolutely lost up there for the most part. Real tough when hes up at the top of the order.
