IT also took a (hopefully) once-in-a-lifetime virus to stop Siakam as well

That 2019-20 makes the ECF, and IMO the finals, if COVID doesn't occur.

Sure but put 2021-2022 Siakam nerfed by Covid and he’s still a better player than 2019 Siakam imo.

He's always been a more fragile mini-KD capable of putting up 50/40/90. Just need to load manage him to make sure he's healthy for the playoffs.

Also he had to play with Zion, who, even when he did play, has still never played a single career playoff game.

Maybe, but its close.

Siakam has not really improve monumentally since the COVID year. Cleaned some stuff up, but hasn't had another jump like he had year 1-2-3-4

I think Lowry/FVV/OG/Siakam/Gasol Powell/Ibaka still clears the theoretical 2022 + BI sans Scottie team. That was a a 60+ win team. IDK if BI instead of Scottie is adding 12+ wins

If the over/under is 39, I'd be taking the under. Personally.

Bruh he is at 31.6 points per 36.

You can have reservations, but like don't purposely mislead things (like you always do)

What's Scottie's and IQ's per over the last two?

*also, per 36? He's never came close to that average.

I think it is due to BI’s halfcourt ability. Despite how good 2019 was, the half court offence was a major weakness. I think the 2022 team would be able to play just as fast as 2019’s in transition and be the superior team on offence when the game slows down.

IDK if they would be superior offensively.

2020 team was rolling out 4 shooters + Siakam (who still shot 36%), and was a top tier offensive team. Hard to judge the playoffs as Siakam was just ass in the entire bubble, and it was not a "playoff intensity" type thing that threw him off.

The BI team would still have Poeltl, and weaker shooters across the board with Poeltl, Siakam, and even BI to a lesser extend. Not to mention, zero bench for BI's team vs 2020 that still had Powell/Ibaka.

He has averaged 33mpg for his career. Is that not close?

Sure, if it pleases you, I can tell you he is averaging 29.0 points per 33 minutes

LMAO

This is what I appreciate about Masai's ability as a GM. He finds those underutilized assets and overlooked situations, leverages them and capitalizes basically turning unwanted pieces into valuable pieces. We'll see how Bobby puts his own stamp on things.

He's averaging 20 in like 22 minutes right now... That's pretty nice.

It's less about straight points for this team, and more about the way he scores and when he scores. We needed a creator, a closer and a guy we can say is our go to guy.

You could see it last night, even if it was preseason and the kings. Our team got easier looks once BI started cooking, and the shooting looked alot more sustainable with everyone shifted down a peg or two from last year.

He's come in and seems to be moving the needle further than any single player has for this team since Kawhi. It's still early, but if he stays healthy, it's gonna be the over.

He's looked good for a guy who's missed a year. I'm just not anchored to the idea that it's permanent yet, or that the pieces work together. Or, that Darko's the guy to figure it all out.

BI has been as good as I could have hoped for, not sure what else someone would need to see from him at this point. He looks healthy, smooth and engaged. All the other stuff are valid concerns. The fit is definitely not all the way there, part of it is chemistry that will take time, and it could still be that the pieces don't fit. I'm just optimistic at this point overall, this looks like the deepest most talented team we've had since 2020.

We are in a good place to make adjustments/trades if need be. In comparison, that kings team we just played... They need like a 5-8 year rebuild. They are a total teardown with close to nothing to be excited about. I like the spot we are in.

BI has always been good. The issue has always been his health, just gotta pray to the basketball gods.

I agree he's been great so far. It's the other guys I have questions with right now. Mainly Barnes and IQ.

I'm not sure how this all works together.

Drivers always have chemistry with 3 level scorers.

It’s why Zion and BI played so well together when they were healthy.

I don’t think BI and Scottie will be a good fit together due to that. Scottie isn’t wired to make straight line drives off the catch.
