RIP, Jane Goodall. I just loved her - what she stood for and how she did it.

Jokic working with NBA refs/consultants post practice.
So I saw this and thought it was genius. Better to get any questions on how they'll call things sorted. Then I wondered if all teams get this luxury? Anyway, I can't fault him at all. I'd do the same thing if I had been wronged previously or had questions on how the game would be called.

Not sure it is in the rules, but I think it is in the rules, that you have to have players last name on a jersey. But FIBA allows first name on a jersey, like FRANZ for Franz Wagner, also, I saw guy in Euroleague wear his first name just few days ago.
Do you think NBA should allow first name on a jersey?

I recall the Heat in 2014 were allowed nicknames on the name plate.UcanUwill wrote:Not sure it is in the rules, but I think it is in the rules, that you have to have players last name on a jersey. The disappointing part about this is Chris Bosh going for CB and not Boshtrich

Huge Euro prospect #3 Miikka ''Slim Jesus" Muurinen made his Partizan debut. It was in ABA not Euroleague, not sure if he will get playing time there, but he looks pretty sweat. Spanish super PG prospect Sergio De Larrea does play Euroleague basketball for Valencia and he already one of their main players. He does not have same ceiling as slim Jesus, but I would rank him about guys like Topic or Jakucionis for sure.
In OT news, sorry, jsut wanted to share, it gets scarier and scarier to live where I am every, and least for me. This was second time in few months when my town at least tested emergency city sirens. This was just not a thing in the past, nowadays seems everyone tries to be prepared for possible Russian invasion. I see German troops here sometimes, so they did deploy some Nato troops near our border.

I live 15 km from Belarus border, it is widely believed that if Russia attacks NATO, they invade from south Lithuania where I am. They attacked Ukraine from their Belarus border as well, Belarus was their ally, thats why Belarus also received some sanctions from the west, but if you ask me, not harsh enough ones.

Daaaaam... well you live in a NATO country no? Don't think they would do that. Still be careful.

Yeah, I think the fact we are NATO is main reason we did not suffer Ukrainian fate already. Hopefully Putin is not that much of a lunatic, but he has no problem sending his own troops to die and kill people in other country for no good reason, so you never know, we are closest to WW3 as we ever were with current Russia and the fact they have good relations with China, it is definitely a possibility.

Re: 2025 General Discussion Thread (NBA news, random thoughts, etc.)
Moussa Diabate looks like a freak with his athleticism, strength and wingspan out there. 26 min, 14 pts, 5-9 fg, 7 reb, 2 ast/2 to, 2 stl +14 against the Thunder nonetheless. Really impressive athlete, he had 6 fouls but his fouls per 36 was not that high last season. Hornets got a nasty athlete in that one, made some smart plays as well with his passing and decision making. Not the best shotblocker per 36, surprisingly, but could be that he is more focused on shutdown defense.
Advanced stats seem to think he is a positive defender, on the Hornets! Very impressive, Mamba had him as high as 24th in the league defensively! And he seems to have taken steps, very intriguing for the Hornets. I was like, who is this guy? He is just bullying the Thunder with his power out there.
They surprisingly started Tre Mann as well, and he responsed with 7-12 fg and 4-6 3pt and only 1 turnover. It's rough defensively with him and LaMelo on guards like SGA, but I guess they only have negative defenders at guard so might as well start the guy who plays the best offensively. Sexton had a solid game off the bench as well, LaMelo looked confident, 5 turnovers to 4 assists is not great but its his first preseason game against OKC so I'll cut him some slack, shot looked awesome.
Tidjane Salaun is a terrible offensive player, but still managed to go +9 in 29 mins despite being 2-11 from the field with 3 turnovers, with 10 rebounds, 1 stl and 2 blocks. So the Hornets have some impact defenders going on, to be fair, the Thunder without Chet and J-Dub are a lot less long and disruptive, but there is no way Chet could have handled the power of Diabate charging at him, lol. But it's something to accord for that bigs will look better against Jaylin Williams and Ousmane Dieng "big" man lineups.. still promising!
For OKC it's going to be interesting to see if anyone can challenge Dort for the starting spot. 2-14 from three from the non-SGA starters is really annoying to see, after that was all of last year in a nutshell. How hard can it be to develop or find ONE consistent 3 & D player?! Sigh. Hopefully it was just a bad night from Dort who started last year at 37 % for two straight months so we don't want a repeat of that, Joe was 5-8 from 3pt fg but is still our worst defender, Wallace has had a terrible shooting start to the preseason, which is disappointing. It will likely be Dort, I just fear his potential inconsistency (13 games with 0 or only 1 made three the first 2 months last season) issues reappearing.
SGA looked polished, with some sloppy turnovers but thats to be expected.

Re: 2025 General Discussion Thread (NBA news, random thoughts, etc.)
Edwards not showing any signs of improving his playmaking this preseason and thus the Wolves offense looks poor. Sure, it's preseason, but you want to start building good habits and start working on your team offense as early as possible to increase the synergy and start the season with better flow. Just weird stuff, I wouldn't allow it as a coach at least, and if his focus is on improving his scoring arsenal, when the playmaking is the big thing lacking, I also think it's the wrong approach to improving his game.

CB is just terrible, its a Soccer position not a nickname.
