Also, does Chuck remember his career? His 13th season came just after he'd maneuvered his way off a team he didn't feel was good enough for the 2nd time.

i'll let it lie. point is made tho. damn
One can be a Giannis "fanboy" and be a huge Bucks fan. It's not one or the other. You want to paint everything in absolute terms when sports is anything but.
like you im both...but one far outweighs the other.....or at least should on this board....i think as all fans were split on this because emotionally its available and the big decisions arent our call.....
but as a GM you dont have that luxury to play both sides MD. most successful seasons are determined in the margins. this situation is the entire canvas. if youre the GM you need to pick a side and a direction....NOW
all i pray is theres a larger discussion taking place behind the scenes and the lockerrom is cracking up about it...if not then my take is the right one. i feel certain about that. we know how these sitations in modern sports turn out. its always the same

Does he, though? It seems like for it to be a good point you have to accept that he said what Chuck said he said, which he didn't.

Re: Giannis Thread - 13th Season with the Bucks
I think it's perfectly fine for Giannis to want his children to go to school in Greece. He has his brother, he'll be okay. The man is focused on basketball and now he has a chance to focus on it more than he has in the past however many years since his wife first became pregnant. Of course it will be difficult, but this is him making a family decision, not a decision being made for him a la Dame.
I think it's perfectly fine for Giannis to reevaluate the reality of this team after the season. If he asks out because it's obvious this team doesn't have a path to a chip, none of us could blame him.
I dunno, it's so difficult for me to find a reason to give any of this emotion. I wouldn't even give it attention, but it's everywhere.
Pretty sure this team will surpass expectation and exceed the Dame years in terms of fun for both fans and players alike.
I also think they are more likely to not only get out of the first round, but the second round as well. Next off-season, the conversation will be, "Was last season a fluke? Are the Bucks actually contenders?"
Enjoy the ride, my friends.

Re: Giannis Thread - 13th Season with the Bucks
My thought is what Ron Swanson said on this post. Giannis is telling us and being 100. If we’re not doing good I suspect Giannis will want out. He of course wants to win. That set aside teams I would engage trade talks with Raptors, Spurs, maybe Hawks, maybe the Knicks but it would need to be a 3 team deal. NOW any team that wants Giannis need to take Kuzma PERIOD!
Raptors I would be interested in are: Scottie Barnes, Quickley, G. Dick or Aghabi, C. Murray -Boyles
Spurs: One of Harper or Castle, Sochan, Vassell, H. Barnes
Hawks: J. Johnson, Risachar, Kennard, A. Newell

Flies in the face of what Giannis just emphasized to the press.
This tweet is the only thing I can find referring to it:

Body language alert: I think he’s checked out of mke and just looking for/hoping for any excuse to make his exit.
Wouldn’t be surprised if he sat a big handful of games before the trade deadline just to “prove” a point.

Why would we water down a Giannis trade to get off a contract that doesn't matter to us in the new timeline? If anything we should be taking on bad contracts with future assets.

Re: Giannis Thread - 13th Season with the Bucks
Brian Windhorst: Most importantly, after this season, Giannis only has one year on his contract. So whether you got into Giannis potentially wanting to revisit this in mid-season or whether you got into it in the six or seven-month timeline that he has given us so generously, you would have to look at a place where Giannis would want to be. This wouldn’t be an open bidding war. You wouldn’t have a situation like you had with Dame Lillard where you could have a market he doesn’t want you to come in. He would have some control. And part of me believes the reason he didn’t go full bore into the trade demand this summer — where he sort of sat around and didn’t make noise about it in June and July and didn’t make a move until the August — was because he knew that he would have much more control next year. And so if that happens, then you’re looking at a team like Golden State or a team like New York who could leverage Giannis’ desire to be in a big market — which I think is going to be a factor.”

Re: Giannis Thread - 13th Season with the Bucks
i would be very happy for Steph if he could team up with Giannis.. but that's about where that ends. New York.... you know i could live with that honestly. I think New York fans would really love him and appreciate him. I also think New York, although they dont have any picks really, could give us a much better package. It may not seem great at the time until we flip the players for more.
but.. once the season starts i dont want to talk about this anymore.. there's still a shot this can be good.. so let's focus on that

Not from a he's going to demand to be traded standpoint but just being away from your family 8+ months. Something smells off about this or the fam just really hates Milwaukee.
I just find it odd how he watched dame suffer so much without his family around and Giannis being all about family is now going to do the same thing.

Oh yeah. At last nights game he sat in a regular seat and fidgeted. The guy we knew would have been jumping on the bench cheering on the scrubs.
He’s struggling with how to do this. And Shams is the guy who’s been fed this info the past few months. Kills me to say that.
ETA: did not watch the second half. Evidently he was cheering for Thanasis.
ETAII: From last night.

Re: Giannis Thread - 13th Season with the Bucks
I really don't care about all the noise. We've all seen that Giannis doesn't filter his honest thoughts, so when he says obvious stuff like (paraphrasing), "Who knows what the future holds," the media just runs with it and says he wants to leave the Bucks. So really, I don't care. I just look forward to watching basketball.

Re: Giannis Thread - 13th Season with the Bucks
Giannis has won 8 series with us with 4 being the 2021 title which looks just as flukey as the Lakers 2020 title.
It was a Bucks/Hawks/Suns/Clippers final 4 lmao

Bucks tricked me into being a diehard in 2001, LeBron is the 2nd best player ever, and pizza is awesome.

Most trade restrictions end around December 15th, right?
