We're locked in with 3 and D guys this year though and Giannis should be able to find them wide open. I hope he defers and tries to average a triple double this year instead of dribbling through the midgets too much.

It's so bad. I'll never understand how someone with hands that big can't catch a basketball. He should have like eight dunks so far this preseason but he keeps dropping easy passes, resulting in no shot at all. Very frustrating.

Is he a cut candidate? Just athletic with no feel; I hope I'm wrong but he reminds me of a really athletic, tall soccer guy they had to convince to play basketball and he didn't catch on.

I saw enough from like the 5-minutes that Sears played to know that we can finally stop pretending that Boomshay has any business getting emergency backup PG minutes over him. Two-ways should be Sears, Nance, and *insert whatever athletic project wing you can find*. Dink Pate is still out there FYI.

I'd wait until cut downs. I hope we don't go with Ryan. I like him as a player but not in the NBA.

Really that is your take of him from these first two preseason games I am sure glad your not in charge of player development lol
I thought he has played pretty dam good on both sides of the ball and when he is not picked he stays in front of his man it’s not like players are blowing by him like you think.

I think Livingston's proven enough to where he's not my first cut on the chopping block (he's firmly ahead of Ajax and Tyler Smith at this point), but I'm still not really convinced that anything he's doing is that translatable against non-scrub NBA players. Awesome to see him hit 9/10 free throws, but it's all still just the same "bully ball" stuff we saw in SL and the G-league. He really needs to become a knock-down catch and shoot guy for me to believe he has any future in the main rotation.

If any decision makers saw:
8:27 left in the 4th
6:43 left in the 4th
5:28 left in the 4th
.... He won't get in a real game this year playing like that. He's playing scared of functional contact. AJJ is 2 years older so I get why we have a shorter leash for him than Liv, but age is the only reason to still have hope for LIv at this point he's still lost.

On the brighter side, Cole looks like this years GTJ. All the pickups look good and ready to contribute off some Giannis/KPJ gravity.

Back to Liv for a second; his jogging around looks stupid and he should be embarrassed. It's one thing if you're a vet jogging around in preseason but that mf should be playing for his career right now -- I don't get who he thinks he is; did his agent blackmail the owners or something?

If Liv is your guy, sorry. That just made me upset watching him play like that; maybe his feelings are hurt that he didn't get burn earlier in the game. I hope I'm wrong and he can play some emergency rotation minutes this year.

I'm mostly on page with this.
He's 6-6, good height for a SG but clumsy and can't really shoot. So he's a 3 but look 10x worse than TP who everyone hates? Is he an undersized 4 but plays much less physical than Kuz? Someone help me see it. What's his actual position and role on our team potentially?

Id much rather give Livingston 20-30 games to see if what he's shown in the G-League/Summer League/preseason is able to be translated at all as opposed to Prince/Coffey/Kuzma who are all low ceiling players. He's had success at all the lower levels so let's see if he can be this years Ryan Rollins or AJ Green. If after a couple months it hasnt translated we can always put one of those other guys back into the rotation

The 5 guards + big man trio should be getting like 90% of the minutes, + maybe like ~10 backup C minutes for Sims. In any non garbage time game there should really only be like ~12-15 or so backup SF minutes remaining. Given Prince and Kuzma are both legit terrible with no upside, I'm honestly fine with giving Livingston like 10-12 backup SF minutes until they hopefully find the real solution via mid season trade.

I didn’t see him playing scared of contact I saw him driving hard to draw contact and getting fouled. Does he have a lot to learn sure he does but you can see the talent there he is a wing be it a 3 or 4 we need a 3 more on this team to defend that position. Let’s see how these next two preseason games go but I sure rather he get minutes this year than players I know what they are.

I thought his on ball D was good can he fight thru screens better sure he can but how tight they were calling **** last nite he would have been called for fouls like Rollins was. I never said he was a done product he is the 2nd youngest player on this team I thought his jump shot the first game looked smooth he will have to extend his range but there is a lot to like about him and the bully ball will work against real nba players as he gets stronger and matures he’s a big kid.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
