Re: Political Roundtable Part XXXIV
Confused Nobel Price committee shrugs and awards Nobel Peace Price to Venezuelan Trump supporter. We are in the dumbest time line ever.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Good day Popper.
I'm wondering how you feel about your President's
agreement with Qatar to allow them to build a
military base in our country?
As long as I'm asking could you please also tell us
how you feel about his and Ice-Barbie's brownshirts
shooting a priest in the head with a pepper ball gun?
TIA

A lot of what we call 'thought' is just mental activity
When you are accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression
Those who are convinced of absurdities, can be convinced to commit atrocities

Re: Political Roundtable Part XXXIV
I just experienced my first run-in with tariffs. I am interested in ordering a pair of boots that come from Vietnam, but there will be an extra $42 slapped onto the cost because of the tariffs, and extra $42 dollars for nothing. IF tariffs resulted in a dedicated fund for paying something specific, like maintaining the ACÁ premium assistance for example, I wouldn’t mind it, but it’s still a very stupid policy that hurts more than helps.

It’s not meant to help anything. It’s meant to enrich the White House. If you don’t bow down to the king in some way he will take his tribute from your whole country. There’s no audit trail of what is being done with the tariffs. It is a slush fund controlled entirely by the White House. Trump was honest in saying ‘we’ are making billions from the tariffs. He just didn’t mean the US when he’s talking about ‘us’.

I enjoyed the first 12 or so years of participation here jim. The last two were intellectually distasteful as a result of ad hominem attacks (Popper's a liar, a POS, etc.). It was clear that my time is better spent elsewhere (although I still enjoy reading the thread to better understand the "progressive" thought process, sources of news, etc.) Posting here felt like being the lone conservative on a MSNBC round table filled with angry progressives. I do admit I'm tempted sometimes but have learned that my input here is a complete waste of calories. So carry on and I'll look forward to reading.

Ok but why do you think we are so angry? Yes, we're extremely angry. We love America and it's being destroyed. Why wouldn't we be angry? Why are you so angry at obvious lies, like "PORTLAND IS ON FIRE," that you're willing to see America destroyed? I genuinely want to understand so I can somehow convince you to STOP.

Re: Political Roundtable Part XXXIV
By the way, everyone should watch Adolescence on Netflix. I thought it would be heavy but it's not. I actually found it refreshing and cathartic. It looks straight at the problem of male loneliness and is brutally honest about it, but not unfairly.
Without spoiling anything, the loneliness problem is when a boy has a father but the father doesn't spend time with him, so he can absorb what it means to be a man. Being with your son is a sign of love, the most important one, more important than saying "I love you." Those are just words. Time alone with your father is what counts the most. And as a happy side effect your son won't be vulnerable to the evil words of bastards like Andrew Tate.

I mean, what does legal even mean nowadays? Might as well do whatever and hope you have friends in the right places.

So long as they never have another fair election again. Legal is whatever they can get away with.
