What are you even basing this on?

Josh Minott's meaurement predraft in 2022: 6-7.25" barefoot, 6-11.75" wingpsn, 197 pounds ... predraft Payton Pritchard weighed 195 lbs (2 less than Minott) ... I mean, I don't even understand where this concept is even coming from. 6-8 guys with 6-11 wingspans don't play center in the NBA

Pun on his name, Mi(ght)nott I would think. Might not be a PF now....

Sound like Minott gives up a little to Theis in height and length -- and a lot in weight.

I'm interested in Josh Minott's potential, but I also am pretty sure Josh Minott could fit inside one of Robert Covington's shoulders

I have to be honest. I don't understand why this thread isn't popping. He's going to be your backup PF. Interested to see if they shift a bit to using him a little more to set screens to open up a slightly more consistent offensive role.

He's looked really good so far. Either Scal or Drew asked Zarren last night ... did you expect Minott to look this good? And Zarren, in so many words, said no. Wouldn't surprise me if Minott surpassed Boucher on the depth chart before the end of the year.

Yeah he looks great. I am surprised though Zarren didn’t expect it. Though he only has 93 games and 460 minutes of NBA experience, his impact metrics have always been very good. Just waiting for an opportunity to shine.

He's looking good but it's just 2 games (small sample size), we've faced 2 teams who had like all of their starters out of the lineup so we don't want to get too excited and a lot of the discussions have been happening in other threads..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

He is listed at 205 lbs. He isn't a PF. Boucher weighs 200 lbs, and some people here had him playing center. There will be times where Boston goes two forwards Minott and Brown or Minott and Hauser or Minott and Hugo. Still won't make him a PF. Boston can have a lineup of Brown, Hugo, Minott, Hauser and Baylor out there at the same time, and none of them with be a Center or a PF.

Boucher passes as a 200lb PF, Minott can pass as a 205lb PF.

Nah, we can both get too excited and still realize it’s only preseason. You know how I fan, I tend to exaggerate what I’m seeing, because I want it to be real! When or if reality hits, I’ll take it, but I’m going to overhype until I’m wrong!

I just want the best for everybody! In conclusion, EXTEND “WHY NOT/MOW,” TODAY!!!

Too many people are hung up on traditional positions and wanting players to fit into a certain position based on that.
Case in point, some people here were calling Boucher a center. I said a month ago he isn't a center, weighing in a 200 lbs. A few weeks later, Boucher said he isn't a center and prefers guarding guards and forwards. That's a lot of ask someone to play center at 200 lbs, when you have to go against center 250 lbs and up.

Minott and Boucher are forwards. There is no rule in the NBA that says you can't start all 5 forwards in your lineup or all 5 SGs. The cool thing about them are they are both athletic, fast, tall and have long arms.

At least to me there remains a distinction defensively and winning the possessions battle. As long as Minott continues to show strength and determination to secure rebounds and can block shots when he's out there with Garza, he's what I'd call PF eligible.

Incredible steal for on a min. He and Boucher were homeruns considering the costs.

Keeping in mind the fact that JT has guarded bigs in the Finals no less, adding a healthy JT to this roster:

What teams in the East are you afraid of?
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!
