Scheierman is a streak shooter, and about one time in seven he goes off. The rest of the time he's just a headless chicken running around out there.

But if he can't make shots, get separation or even dribble around NBA athletes without turning it over, he isn't going to last in the league. For team building reasons, it's pretty important that Scheierman put it together
You look at his draft and there's 5-10 guys who we passed on for Baylor who are looking good right now: Filipowski, Furphy, Mitchell, Jaylen Wells etc etc ...
And when I say "team building" reasons I mean with Jays + Derrick making +$150 million over each of the next 3 years, we need the guys we draft to be good or we need to get lucky with the next James Posey free agent who will take a veterans minimum to showcase his value ... or it will be pretty tough to hang any more banners in JT's prime

Joe went double big crazy in this one. Had Queta and Garza out there together. Long stretch of the 3rd and into the 4th with the REALLY ODD Queta and Tillman pairing. Also could count on one hand and have a finger or two remaining the number of off-ball screens. Minott set zero screens outside of one he set in the opening minute. Minott also moved around much more in the Memphis game, camped out in the corner for 90% of the possessions last night.
Baylor is Brat.

We have had too much "potted plant" or 7-10 bowling pin sets with two guys camped in the 3pt corners.
But, we've also had some moments, where we're trying to mix it up with motion, esp with josh Minott
This side out play was particularly encouraging last night (thanks whoever put this on youtube)

There's the whole "Rico" thing. That was pretty witty.
And he had that one Rondo-esque pass.
...I'll keep looking.

You can be positive or negative in your beliefs about what Queta can and will do, and I won't argue. But putting him in and out and in and out every few minutes will be asking for trouble. Let Queta or any player for that matter, try and get into a groove and feel the game out. "In-outs" rarely help anyone.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Last season Celtic fans were complaining about Joe not holding players accountable for their actions.
Joe has done that in preseason.
The in and out of the lineup is when a player makes a mistake or fails to do something that he should've done.
I think Joe is sending a message.
Will the "in and out" continue in the regular season?
We'll find out in less than 2 weeks.

I'm lucky to be on the board. We have some of the best people here that can analyze players by watching them in about 10 minutes, of a preseason game. It's truly impressive. As much as I love Brad's basketball mind, I believe in some of you guys more.

Putting him in, and taking him out after 30 seconds because the team missed a defensive rebound happened at least 2 times, it was a stupid decision on Mazzula, you destroy a player´s confidence level like that, and that guy will get no rhythm in the game, like it showed.

It's about the system.
The Celtics are less talented now.
So players have to know their roles and they have to execute.
If one player is messing up or not doing his role then the whole system gets messed up.
What last season showed us is system trumps talent.
The Cavs and Knicks were clearly more talented than Indiana, but Indy was the one who made the Finals.
You don't see Pacer players doing stuff they're not supposed to do.
If the player is not supposed to be dribbling, he won't and will always look for the designated ball-handler.
That's what Joe is trying to accomplish this season.
Joe can't be in a situation where Celtic players not doing their jobs correctly will be given a pass just so their feelings won't be hurt.

Joe won't be going that in regular season games.

Cleveland's last preseason game, Darius Garland didn't play. I think he is hurt.
But they played their regular players a good amount.
Minutes leaders were:
Evan Mobley: 25 mins
Donovan Mitchell: 25 mins
Jarrett Allen: 24 mins
De'Andre Hunter: 24 mins
Jaylon Tyson: 22 mins
Craig Porter Jr: 20 mins
After Memphis & Toronto sat their starters, tonight's matchup with Cleveland looks like the first real test of the season for our squad.

I remember liking Craig Porter Jr when he was drafted.
I guess I am still hoping we bring in a PG on the cheap somehow, not saying it would be Porter. I think the Cavs like him.

well, we had JD Davison signed to a nonguaranteed roster contract, but the front office cut him in the summer. We could have signed another ball handler to a camp deal but we didn't...
Teams now are really attacking ballhandlers to force turnovers since refs were told to swallow the whistle, physicality is good for ratings, etc lol ... It's actually a bit of an issue that we have so little ball handling on the roster
I'll go on record now, and maybe I'll regret it, but I think it was a mistake to cut JD in the summer, it was just a dumb decision. we don't need 5 Wendell Moore's and Jalen Bridges on the training camp roster, lol

You're probably right about cutting JD, and definitely right about not needing 15 wings. I was never crazy about JD, and had real doubts about him being an NBA player, but he probably could have held down third string duties without being a trainwreck. Now, if either of White or PP miss a stretch, things could get ugly in a hurry.

Question about Horford joining the Warriors...
Did he move his family out of Boston and to Golden State?
