You know that Kerr has talked to Kuminga about his role many, many times.

Maybe what he means is he doesn't have a regular, predictable spot in the rotation. But if he listened and played the role that Kerr keeps telling him to play he'll have a better change at a predictable spot in the rotation.

What JK should have said was "We've had our issues in the past but I'm talking to Steve and the rest of the staff, trying to understand how I can best contribute to team success this year."

His actual comments reveal continuing immaturity, ego, discontentedness. Reporting on the fan event at practice included whispers that it seemed like JK did not want to be there. MDJ was right not to give him a 1+1 with PO because he just would have been counting the days until UFA in 2026. As it stands, I am worried the trade interest in Jan/Feb will be tepid. I hope the Warriors team chemistry is enough to lift JK's performance like a rising tide. It's hard to see him being here long term. But we need his depth this year on the wing.

I would trade JK + 2 1st rd picks for Trey Murphy. Not sure NOR would do that.

Edit: 200 pages!! Nice

I cant imagine a 22yo being immature. The Warriors made their bed. Its clearly risky to retain someone you dont want just to extract value from them.

We’ll see how it works out for them. Reports during the offseason seemed to make it clear JK didnt want to be a Warrior and wanted control over his own career (how outrageous) - granted it could have just been clickbait fluff pieces, but Im not sure how anyone would be even mildly surprised if it turned out to be true. Heres to hoping Mdj can extract more than 1 1st at the trade deadline. It’d be great if they could get one of those Sac 2nds also, but not gonna hold my breath.

Being 22 isn't really an excuse considering the things JK wants for himself.

Looking at Cleveland's payroll, if the Cavs don't get a quick start out of the gate they may well look to dump salary. Can one of the capologists around here tell us whether a Kuminga for De'Andre Hunter deal would be feasible come the trade deadline?

No way the Cavs dump salary when the east is going to be terrible. This is their best shot to get to the finals.
Most 4th Quarter Points in Final since 1991
1995 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5
2000 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5 (61.1% TS)

1997 Michael Jordan 10.7 (55.1% TS)
1998 Michael Jordan 10.6 (50.6% TS)
2011 Dirk Nowitzki 10.3 (68.0% TS)

Since they're both apron teams (Cavs 2nd, GS 1st) neither one can take back more salary than they send out, so a 3rd team would be involved. GS needs to send about an additional 2.2M salary somewhere to satisfy that and to stay under the 2nd apron hard cap. The Cavs are OK with just Hunter for JK.

Other young guys like Podz, Moody, TJD, Post did not have this problem. Will Richard seems mature and professional.

Yes, JK is 22. Do you think he will grow out of it?

I agree that Warriors painted themselves into a corner. It is hard to know for sure what trade opportunities were available for JK over the past couple years. All we hear is rumors. It's possible we look back with hindsight and conclude Warriors botched this. I do not think the trade offers next January are going to be that good.

Well just the fact that they signed someone they dont want (and doesnt want them) for $22m is suspect regardless of what they could have gotten in a trade or s&t.

He grows out of it once he fails multiple seasons as one of his team's top options, until that happens, he's going to believe he can be that in the NBA.
