Sure he does. The problem is it seems like he knows it too. I worry that he feels like he deserves more than he's earned to this point. He's not going to be handed minutes on a WCF team just because he was a Top 10 pick. There's still a bit of an immaturity to his game, which is a major detractor I think.

I see him as being too far in his head right now and a loss of confidence. Like Maverick said "If you think you're dead." Can't be thinking out there.

Kevin Pelton’s bold prediction from his models at ESPN is that MIN finishes eighth

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/46521096/nba-2025-2026-season-win-projections-all-30-teams

8. Minnesota Timberwolves
Projected wins: 43.7
ESPN BET over/under total: 49.5

Why they project to be worse than their total: The Timberwolves were one of my model's big misses a season ago, winning 49 games while projected for 42.7. In part, Minnesota benefited from favorable health on the perimeter. Nickeil Alexander-Walker's departure means one of the Wolves' young guards will have to step into a rotation role, and Terrence Shannon Jr. -- the most likely contender ahead of the season -- projects poorly. But don't blame Minnesota fans for thinking their team is underrated after back-to-back trips to the conference finals.

Pelton's an idiot.

I figured lets go really Bold! Plus like both players for us, just not sure what we'd have to give up.

Thanks, long time Wolves fan from New Zealand.

shrink wrote:I think Ant is still a long shot for MVP, and several other stars (Jokic, SGA, Luka, Giannis) would have to drop for Ant to rise up and pass them. However, there is voter fatigue with all of them, and Ant winning MVP would be an exciting move for the NBA. I think Ant would have to be first team All NBA if the Wolves have a successful (58 wins?) regular season.

Kyle Theige has talked about it a couple of times on his media tour this week: Voters BADLY want to vote for Anthony Edwards. It's evidenced by the votes he's received last season for both All-Defense and Clutch Player of the Year, despite really not being close to that level.

Last year, you had the "big three" (Giannis, Shai, Jokic) unanimously make all-NBA. Tatum was also unanimous, and the fifth was Donovan Mitchell. Ant was sixth, the top vote-getter on the second team. Behind him were aging Steph and LeBron. Mobley will be splitting votes with Mitchell at best, and then you have Brunson (who also is likely to split votes with Towns). The most realistic threat coming from behind is Cade, but it would take a lot of team success to get him that high. I guess I probably have to throw out there Victor as well....
