As a Raptors fan, I chose Bargnani. What if he could actually play basketball?

But seriously, I'd go with Bias. I remember when he passed, he was the second coming. Of course, he might have ended up a bust, but we'll never know.

Current example is Zion. Story still unfolding...

Am I allowed to do a "trade-what if" and just without the whole Bob experience?

In 1997 the Spurs trade for a 2003 first round pick that somehow ended up being the first pick...

Joel Embiid...

Sabonis is my 2nd answer

HM goes to Petrovic because that would mean he didn't die

I'd go with the 'save a life' option, personally. So I went Bias, although you could argue Petrovic was less personally responsible for his own passing (his girlfriend was driving if I recall correctly). But Petro at least got to experience more in life, being a bit older and a bit further along, etc. But it's really a toss-up between those two.

IMO Sabonis hands down because we all saw Embiid, Petrovic, Roy play at a young peak age.
Sabonis was old with health issues when he started playing here.

As a Bulls fan I say Rose. So exciting and talented. Joakim Noah worked on his passing afterwards because Rose was getting trapped and Noah was planning on leading 4 on 3s like Green. We saw how good Noah was in 2014 when he finished 4th in MVP voting, won DPOTY, and averaged 5.4 assists per game, which was a lot for a center back then.

That team won 48 games. Add in an improved Derrick Rose who should be better at 25 than 22 if he never got hurt, and I think that team makes the Finals.

Yeah, but guys like me watched Sabonis play 15 years before he signed with the nba, not like he was not playing. What if with Sabonis is not if he joined Portland 10 years earlier, its about him not suffering injuries. If he joined Portland 10 years earlier but still had same injuries, he is not nba superstar. Sabonis just like many guys here never really reached their potential and its not about where he played.

Sabonis at age 22 already moved like old man. He was 7'3 so it wasnt a big deal 40 years ago, but I am just saying.

As a Lakers fan, I’m was petrified of a healthy Oden and B Roy. I really believe Blazers would have won at least one during that time

Also a healthy Grant Hill might have been enough reason for Duncan to leave the Spurs & join Orlando ..

Roy because I still think that after Kobe I thought he was the 2nd best sg of his generation when he was healthy(yes over Wade) and I''ll die on that hill. I think a lot of people forget just how much of a beast Roy was and how complete of a player he was. Ron Artest said Roy was the best player he ever played against. Now clearly he was exaggerating but not by much because of how complete offensively Roy was.

Had Bias lived Bird would have retired in 88 or 89. He's stated this on the record so no Boston dynasty most likely. Walton and Sabonis are really the two imo. Walton was already seen as the best in the world while peak/prime Kareem was in the league with 1 title under his belt at age 24 and that was a Walton who'd already had injury issues. So without all the foot problems he's prob 10% better in 77-78 and playing way more games in the rs, wins another title in 78(Portland were overwhelming favorites when he went down in the playoffs) and then set up for a likely 3 peat in 79 at the age of 26. Would love to know if he'd been able win more titles in the 80's going up against Showtime/Bird's Celtics/Dr. J's Sixers.

My favourite which hardly anyone ever mentions:

What if Olajuwon doesn’t block Starks’ shot and it goes in?

Obviously Bias, since it's the option where we get to save a man's life.

From a basketball perspective, it would certainly have been interesting to see him paired up with Bird and see how this changes the Bird/Magic/Jordan legacies. Would Bias have helped Bird win a few more titles, and prevented a few of Magic's? Would Larry Bird with six titles be considered the GOAT over Jordan?
