That's also what I believe, Yankees will go after him. After this year's disappointment they will go after contact hitters and Bo is literally the best in the business at it. They are used to bad defense so he'll fit right in. I wished he would sign with Colorado to follow his father's footsteps but I'm not sure they would go after him.

Dude will be rusty. He won't make it 2 innings against our lineup in his start.

He could be. But putting Woo in there (with a short leash) or only a few innings makes more sense for Seattle than adding a scrub to the 13th pitcher spot.

Scherzer makes the most sense for us a 13th guy over Nance, because all we are looking for from our 13th guy is for somebody to eat innings in a blowout win or loss. Scherzer is better than Nance for that.

Scherzer should strictly be used as your new Chad Green. He should only pitch in Blow Outs, when the game is pretty much decided. It would be an unfortunate mistake to count on Scherzer to get any meaningful outs with how garbage he has been in his last 6 Starts.

I think Schneider is smart enough to realize that, since he seen the last 6 Scherzer Starts like we all have. I am confident Schneider will handle the pitchers properly, since he did a fantastic job in the last bullpen game. Even in Game 3, without the heroics of Judge, I thought he made the right moves (taking out Bieber, etc.).

I agree with your assessment. But more bulk than Chad Green, which is what we need from our 13th pitcher -- ability for bulk in blowouts which is why I prefer him over Nance.

And I have faith the Jays will use him properly. They had the balls to sit Scherzer for the ALDS, they will have no problem telling him you are the pick up the scraps role for the ALCS.

The 13th pitcher on the roster, which with 2 days off in the middle of the series, is really a low low leverage role to eat innings in a blowout. Say we fall behind 9-0 early like the Yanks did to us in game 2, I want some reliever who can go 3 innings, not use a bunch of guys.

If it was an important one inning I would prefer Nance over Scherzer, but we have 5 righty relievers above Nance, so neither is likely needed for high leverage.

Call me deluded but I have faith in Scherzer to have a signature moment in the playoffs. Veterans like him know when to flip the switch and bring their best when it matters most. He's also said he's worked on his stuff and patched up some of the issues that had been plaguing him in September. He gives up homers but T-Mobile park suppresses homers too so pitching there might work for him. Let's see. I'd much rather start Scherzer there than Bassitt.

Of course he would say that, he wants to make a start in the playoffs.

The Jays need to remember how he looked the last month and a half and make sure that never happens. Their season may very well depend on it.

Id say theyre closer to the 2016 Blue Jays tbh Cal obviously is incredible but their lineup depth after him runs pretty hot and cold. A lot of their best players are their pitchers and their very good rotation.

(Also man Devon Travis really had 2.2 fWAR in like 230 at bats, i wonder how the 2015 playoffs go with him instead of Goins).

I feel the exact same way. A bulk Chad Green role in a blowout, would be the scenario to use Max "Meatball" Scherzer in this series.

That sucks for Bo. He looks like he might not be ready for World Series if we make it that far.

Lmao please look at Loperfidos savant page if you want to know why hes not playing. Loperfido also sucks on defense too. Idk why anyone is calling for him.

Unless we're up 3-0, there's no reason to roll out the Max/Bass combo ON THE ROAD.

Bullpen game in game 4 and then Max/Bass at home for game 5.

So I’m watching highlights of Jeff hoffmans appearance in game 4 and I still can’t believe they’re gonna keep going to this guy in close games… judge absolutely hammered him, Dominguez crushed a meatball, his control is way off, and he hung a bunch of meatball pitches again that he’s lucky they didn’t crush… what insanity are the jays doing

What's interesting if he would of played in this series and reinjured the knee, he wouldn't be eligible to play in the world series.

Lets hope jays make the WS and he's good to go

He doesn’t command a single pitch he throws and hasn’t for 2 months

The Jays are also lucky that in the 8th with the bases loaded, Austin Wells swung at the first pitch that was going to be a ball, which resulted in Coughman to escape that inning.

His control is not Closer material, and has not been since the middle of August. I can understand using Coughman in that scenario, because Schneider really had nobody else to turn to in that bullpen game. However, I would definitely go with guys like Dominguez and Fisher in the 9th to get three outs over Coughman right now in a close game.
