I think Fred Warner dislocated his ankle. Didn't see it and the volume is low but the announcers were a bit gloomy and he was carted off in a boot. We should trade edmunds to them

82 yards of total offense? that's hard to do. I wonder how long before Fields is benched, although at this point, they may want to just keep losing.

49'ers are just cursed with injuries. Last year it was Cmac and Ayuik, this year it's Purdy, Bosa, and now Warner.

If the Lions lose tonight, and it's looking like they will, the Bears division will be pretty tight. If we win we'll be just a game behind DET and half a game behind GB.

Coaching.
No, the Jets are a complete garbage dump from top to bottom, perennially. Fields is only another part of it. But at least he hustled them for a contract, and as a result, a segment that wants to bought some gear and tickets

Re: Bears thread 13
Almost Every time I come across an article or video mentioning trade targets, it involves the saints. Seems like they are fully open for business and no player is off the table. Mentioned in a couple of posts already that I’d like to target Kamara and cam Jordan, but I imagine they’d be more interested in going to a team almost guaranteed to be in the playoffs.
I think we could also include the dolphins and jets to the list of teams that would be willing to trade almost everyone on their roster. I think they’d be good targets to get quality players for relatively cheap compensation

Re: Bears thread 13
Team Rankings gives us a 30% chance of winning tonight. I feel like that's about right, 3 in 10, 1 in 3, somewhere in that range. It will be a good test for the Bears, coming off the bye, getting healthy. No excuses not to execute and play well.
The difference IMO is that the Redskins defense is much better than ours. We're a bottom 5 defense in ppg and ypg, although of course that's skewed a bit by giving up 52 points in one game. WAS gives up almost as many yards per game as we do (352 v 380), but gives up far fewer points (20 v 29). They have 15 sacks to our 5.
On offense, we're close, scoring 25.3 to their 26.8. And in yards, 340 to 361. So I think we can hang with them on offense. It's just a matter of if our defense can stop them and their league leading rushing attack. Our passing attack is better (12th in league, compared to 27th). So stopping the run for us will be a huge key to beating them.

No Austin Booker or Travis Homer tonight, but they did move Jake Moody off the practice squad, so he may kick tonight if Santos is having trouble with that leg injury. And who knows, if they need a 60 yarder in a clutch situation...

I kinda feel like hes already made up for it this year. That strip takeaway early in the Dallas game, completely turned around the trajectory of that game and with it the season. If that game continued to look as ugly as it was early on before that big play, we're looking at 0-3 and alot less confidence in that Oakland game.
That play so far has led to a reverse effect of his boneheaded play last year. Last year the team completely folded after that play. This year the team has done a 180 after his big play. Lets keep it rollin!

I think just beating WAS tonight would be a good way to erase the memories of last year.

Nothing against Aaron Glenn, but why an NFL team in 2025 is hiring a defensive minded head coach is beyond me. Especially a team like the Jets whos historically been even more offensively inept than the Bears. Their best QB of the last 30 years is probably Chad Pennington. Everyone else they've trotted out makes our Jay Cutler look like Joe Montana. When your the Jets, you look for the next Sean Mcvay, Matt Lafleur, Kyle Shanahan. We atleast did that right in going out and getting Ben (still remains to be seen if hes one of those, but still the right move to make). The absolute last thing they needed was a defense head coach.
I can understand a team hiring a defense 1st head coach..... if they already have an established stud QB that doesn't need development. Beyond that though, no way Jose.

Even then though, a big name OC/playcaller isn't gonna be around long because they get poached by teams looking for HCs fast.
Even for a non-play caller, I bet that if this team's offense actually does get consistently humming, teams will be looking to hire Declan away in no time. Thats why its nice having the comfort of knowing that if this offense does become good enough to start getting OCs stolen to HC jobs, we still have the playcaller and mastermind of the whole thing! So the drop-off won't be drastic like the defense when they lost Rivera in 07 and Fangio in 19
IIRC, both times we lost those stud DCs, we entered the next season with basically the same roster of players, and they performed a hell of alot worse. Like from nearly best in the league to bottom half of the league... with the same players!

That's true. Fangio has been one of the best DC's in the league for awhile now.
