That was a weird game. The Packers didnt dominate but also were never really in trouble. First win in over a month

The other team is too bad, if we were facing a better team it would have been different in terms of feeling, at least.

I thought yesterday was Jordan Morgan's best day as a NFL Player. Thought he blocked his butt off, he was a big part of both of Jacobs TD runs

This is a problem. And the reason the games have been closer.

After the number of turnovers we forced last year, regression to the mean was expected. Still, we'd force more if our pass rush was better than it has been recently.

Zero forced mumbles this season. That was a talking point all training camp and we haven't forced a single one

It's crazy how much we throw it deep. Wicks, Reed, Doubs, Heath, and Golden are all in the Top 51 in the league in ADOT.

Weird feeling after this one. No style points in the NFL and all that, but still certainly feels underwhelming. My question is, are the lack of turnovers simply because we've actually been facing some sneaky good, turnover avoidant QB's with Goff, Daniels, Dak, and now Flacco x2? I thought Flacco did a pretty remarkable job at getting the ball out quickly, and Chase is just incredible at those kind of quick hitters. Seriously, Nixon played a pretty good game and was draped all over him for some of those contested grabs, but Jamar is just 1-of-1.

I get that Jordan Love is going to have stretches this year where he's unstoppable and the arm talent to flick his wrist and will have 4 TD games as the year goes on... but can't help but think that Malik would have us undefeated right now. Just plays more vet-like and is much quicker when he needs to get out of trouble. But I do get that the "process" is that we live through the bonehead Love plays now and he has the talent to be a top 5 QB whereas Malik would likely ceiling as a top 15 -- even if he wins us more games temporarily.

That Love slide at the end of the game to make it 3rd and 2 and rely on the replacement kicker to win the game is similar to why it took us a month to win another game. If we keep having this many 3 and outs there are more losses coming unfortunately. But also he had some amazing throws.

That was definitely one of the games in the history of the Green Bay Packers.

Snap Counts from Acme

60 offensive snaps

Running Back
Josh Jacobs: 47
Emanuel Wilson: 11
Chris Brooks: 5 (14 SPT)
Since Week 3, Emanuel Wilson has out-snapped blocking back Chris Brooks at the running back position. It’ll be an interesting decision that the team will have to make whenever MarShawn Lloyd comes off the injured reserve. Will they keep four backs or just three? If it’s just three, will they move on from Wilson, a ball-carrier, or Brooks, who played just short of three times as many special teams snaps as any other offensive player in the Bengals game?

Wide Receiver
Romeo Doubs: 51 (3 SPT)
Matthew Golden: 42 (1 SPT)
Malik Heath: 27
Dontayvion Wicks: 21
Savion Williams: 7 (4 SPT)
No, Malik Heath didn’t jump Dontayvion Wicks on the depth chart. Remember, Wicks dropped out of the game with an ankle injury. So far, there have been no updates to his status going into Week 7.

Tight End
Tucker Kraft: 55
Luke Musgrave: 21
John FitzPatrick: 11
Ben Sims: 1 (4 SPT)
While he’s only recorded seven receiving yards over the last two games, Luke Musgrave has played 46 offensive snaps over those contests. Before then, he and John FitzPatrick had been pretty neck and neck, snaps-wise. No tight end played special teams this week, other than fourth-stringer Ben Sims on the kickoff return unit. Sims also made his offensive debut for the 2025 season on Sunday.

Offensive Line
Elgton Jenkins (C): 60 (5 SPT)
Zach Tom (RT): 60 (5 SPT)
Aaron Banks (LG): 60 (5 SPT)
Rasheed Walker (LT): 60 (5 SPT)
Jordan Morgan (RG): 49 (5 SPT)
Sean Rhyan (RG): 11 (5 SPT)
Darian Kinnard: 0 (5 SPT)
Donovan Jennings: 0
For the first time all year, the Packers’ preferred starting offensive line actually played a full game together. The team rotated Jordan Morgan and Sean Rhyan at right guard, but the start and most of the snaps actually went to Morgan, not Rhyan, this week.

Defense 62 snaps

Defensive End
56: Micah Parsons
39: Rashan Gary (3 SPT)
21: Lukas Van Ness (6 SPT)
14: Kingsley Enagbare (8 SPT)
13: Barryn Sorrell (8 SPT)
Following Lukas Van Ness’ foot injury, Kingsley Enagabare and Barryn Sorrell had to step up in the lineup. What’s interesting is that Rashan Gary continues to miss about two of five plays on defense, even when Van Ness was out of the game. The only other player who plays that few snaps on defense as a starter is defensive tackle Colby Wooden.

Defensive Tackle
51: Karl Brooks (9 SPT)
30: Colby Wooden (4 SPT)
19: Warren Brinson (4 SPT)
5: Nazir Stackhouse
Here’s the big story this week. First of all, Karl Brooks played 60 (!) snaps, including his special teams reps. For perspective, Gary played just 42 as a full-time starting defensive lineman who also contributes on the kick block unit. Just an insane amount of plays for a defensive tackle who wasn’t even a Week 1 starter.

Secondly, Warren Brinson outsnapped Nazir Stackhouse about four-to-one in this game, following Stackhouse’s 27-snap performance against the Dallas Cowboys. In that game, Stackhouse was the lowest-graded Packer for any individual game this year, according to Pro Football Focus. Don’t be surprised if, when Devonte Wyatt comes back, Stackhouse is a healthy scratch while Brinson is brought up to be the team’s fourth defensive tackle. In his NFL debut, the team sure seemed like they trusted Brinson more than Stackhouse.

Linebacker
62: Edgerrin Cooper (5 SPT)
62: Quay Walker (4 SPT)
6: Isaiah McDuffie (20 SPT)
0: Ty’Ron Hopper (16 SPT)
0: Nick Niemann (16 SPT)
Pretty much what we’ve seen all season here. The only note I’d add is that the Packers played their nickel defense on over 90 percent of plays in this game.

Cornerback
62: Keisean Nixon (4 SPT)
62: Nate Hobbs (4 SPT)
17: Carrington Valentine (10 SPT)
0: Bo Melton (1 offense, 15 SPT)
Keisean Nixon and Nate Hobbs were the full-time starting cornerbacks in this game, but Hobbs, coming off a concussion, kicked into the slot when Javon Bullard left with a concussion. In his place, Carrington Valentine stepped up at outside cornerback.

Bo Melton has now played three offensive snaps this year but zero on defense.

Safety
62: Evan Williams (8 SPT)
62: Xavier McKinney (10 SPT)
39: Javon Bullard (8 SPT)
0: Zayne Anderson (16 SPT)
0: Kitan Oladapo (11 SPT)
Again, there’s not much to note at the safety position, as Evan Williams has been the starter opposite Xavier McKinney since Week 2. Bullard played the slot role until his injury.

A quick search shows that we're still leading the league in pressure rate (69.4%) by a wide margin. We're also still the 4th best 3rd down defense in the league. Not sure why the defense looks so much worse the last two games, but wondering if they need to switch up to more man coverage at some point. Think yesterday was more about Jamar Chase just making plays on the ball and "tip your cap" type stuff, but that doesn't explain how Dallas was able to carve us up so easily the previous game. Corners have to be more aggressive in press and jump some of these quick hitters.

Hafely needs to scheme up how to better protect against the dink and dunk quick hit passes that Dak and Flacco used effectively

Why you can't just look at stats. Quay led the team in tackles (5) and is in the bottom 5. One day I'll take the time to watch an all 22 video of a game to see everything (but that's what PFF does). He looks lost in coverage so many times.

I'm a little surprised Gary isn't bottom 5. I wasn't even sure he played given how little impact he seemed to have.

Micah's score shows the impact he has each game despite the lack of flashy stats.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

^^^ My eye test take on the PFF grades for the Bengals game: I thought Brooks played better than the PFF score. Same for Nixon. Higgins is a bull and Nixon covered him pretty well, but got overpowered a couple of times.Do the Packers have a CB who could cover a guy like Higgins? Hobbs to my eye is a JAG. I'm not seeing the value in that investment yet. Brinson looked better than Stackhouse (last game).

Malik is a good backup nothing more, ain't no way we're undefeated with him. Remember last year he didn't play any good team (Titans, Colts, Jax) and he didn't look good when he came in vs Bears. Love is like top 5-7 in like all the important QB stats categories. He's still making dumb things but this year it's happening less than the previous years. He's on the right path, the more he plays the better he'll get, remember he doesn't even have 40 starts in this league.

Return to Green Bay Packers
