I honestly hate Mark on the Suns. Seems like about the worst fit possible. He went from a team stacked with 3pt shooting and one of the better lob passers in the league at PG, to a team with literally no PG that has an offense ran almost entirely through mid range isolation players.

I don't expect things to go well for him there tbh even if he is healthy. Such a baffling situation from both sides imo. I don't think the Hornets should have traded him and I dont' see why the Suns would want to trade for him. The Hornets basically traded him for Liam McNeeley.

Mark was far from perfect last season (not being able to work out normally for an entire calendar year might do that), but I'm afraid part of our fan base is going the way of our front office and wouldn't be able to identify talent if it slapped them in the face.

feb 3 vs 7-win wizards... Hornets down 23 at halftime and gave up 77 points in the first half to the Wizards.

Jonas had 12 points and nine rebounds at half. Mark had three points and three rebounds at the half. It was nice that Mark decided to show up in the second half after the game was already a blowout. Mark was a minus 15 in the first half and a plus 17 in the second half. Maybe the coach got into him at halftime. But that was the pattern we had seen from him most of the season. Completely invisible in the first half and only puts up some stats Once the games were Basically decided. If this game was just a one off then it would be no big deal but this was happening repeatedly.

I don't think it's any coincidence that he was traded 3 days later.

If Mark wanted to stay a Hornet he should have done something forgiveable like beating and choking his girlfriend to the point of hospitalization instead of not giving good enough effort playing with a GLeague roster while the team was tanking.

dont get me started on miles. its gross he's still a hornet. even worse The front office still talks about him as a leader and building block.

I think youre correct about why Mark was traded, but I'm frustrated by how they seem to selectively apply certain standards. Miles is obvious, but you could also make just as much of a case for getting rid of LaMelo as Mark in terms of health and effort.

I find it odd that they were so quick to turn on Mark when other players don't ever get held accountable. Seems like one day they were just like "**** this guy".

We've been round and round on Mark Williams for 8 months now. It's entirely possible that the front office overreacted from some of his poor play the first half of last year by trading him to the Lakers. And it's entirely possible that mark and or his agent Acted poorly upon returning after the trade was nullified. I do think based on the comments Mark made after leaving this summer that by the time he returned the damage had been done and probably was not a way forward long term between the two parties. Is what it is at this point.

I really hope we don't have to spend the entirety of this season trying to rehash this tired discussion on Mark Williams.

The real travesty in all of this is that the front office decided to sit on their hands this summer and only bring in a rookie and Mason to compete with Moose. It's pretty much unforgivable they brought Mason back. Bringing Mason back is right up there with Miles still being on the roster and okogie Not being brought back and giving four rookies full contracts as the most baffling moves of the summer. imo

Its going to be hard to ignore if we're spending all season complaining about how awful the center rotation is. Maybe his injury issues are that bad and its all moot, but if he gets healthy and plays its probably not going to be a good look if the Hornets season is simultaneously being tanked by poor center play.

I'm going to need to see Mark both play well and play a lot more games before I'm going to invest any time rehashing his stuff. Hope he does well, but I'm not wishing he was on our roster wracking up DNPs right now.

They didn't want to pony up for Mark's extension. Who pays for bigs anyway unless they're a Jokic. Welcome to the modern NBA.

We should sign LiAngelo and Lonzo. Then challenge the Bucks to a 3v3 game between the Ball's and the Giannis's.

Yeah, brilliant Jeffie fell in love with a project reach from France, ignored Buzelis, Ware. Could have easily traded back several spots and gotten either. Hell they supposedly ignored Clingan because they HAD their center in Williams. Matas is rounding out very nicely.

But yes to Fat’s comments on the biggest current offseason crime…ignoring the center spot while signing an artifact to “help” the youngsters. That routine (a la Taj V2) is a tired dance.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

another solid preseason game by Nurkic, I wonder if the overweight, unfit narrative fired him up.

Williams was all appearance and no substance. 20/10 !!!! But - Gives up 30/15 to Gafford types.
When he even plays.
We had not solved the long term center issue with post injury Mark and we haven't solved it with Moussa and Kalk either but at least they will be getting 5 million combined.
