Draft Nate Wolters - FAILED
Keep Nate Wolters - FAILED

Keep Nate Wolters - FAILED

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Pretty miraculous that it didn't leak out, and that Ainge got as much as he did in that situation is impressive.

Lauri just balled out and beat Serbia/Joker. He’s playing great so far.

Ace seems like a genuinely good kid. He took a lot of flack around the pre-draft process, but that might have just been Omar Cooper.

That first quarter was the worst basketball I had ever seen in my life...... Of course it's only pre-season, but it murdered half of my excitement for the upcoming season......
Shouldn't it increase your excitement? Maybe this time the Jazz will tank properly
Life is forkin short. If the Jazz are tanking for the next Donovan Mitchell, then I dont see the point. You cant sign players that dont want to be in Utah. And the rooks will (mostly) just say the right things. The Jazz need Tim Duncan 2.0 and their own style. That will be hard to find.
I like my prospects the same way I like my women... foreign- pickIBL

Re: The Official Utah Jazz-Related Stuff 2024-2025 Thread
Main takeaways from Preseason:
** Keyonte is more confident and assertive with the ball. He's got some burst and can change speeds. He's not forcing shots very often. He doesn't have enough shake to beat guys off the dribble consistently, which limits his playmaking.
** Yes, Brice can shoot. He's limited as a self-creator because he's a bit slow. He's looking to score rather than pass, which has had the effect of reducing his turnovers. Jazz have given him a green light to shoot.
** Hendricks is a 3D guy. He'll wait on the wing and hopefully start crashing for rebounds like he used to. But the added weight is slowing him down and making him less bouncy. I'm not sure why he felt the need to gain 30+ lbs. He could end up straining his back and his hamstring the way Derrick Favors did. He could drop 15 lbs and be fine.
** Walter Clayton has poise and a nice pace to his game. His passes have natural rhythm and timing. He may be an effective PG if he has enough space to work with and a big who knows how to set screens. He's better than the average backup.
** Jazz will probably give Cody two more years to develop. I think his path is to keep improving his physicality and focus on team defense. He's showing strides in that area. His offensive limitations will probably just make him a lesser scoring option than natural talents like Ace and Brice. His 3pt shooting will probably at 30% or a bit above, but he needs to get up to 36% by next year.
** Nurkic is the perfect stabilizing, playmaking big to support our young guys on offense. Less so on defense.
Jazz are still a 20-win team. They don't have Sexton to make clutch plays and Collins to grab big rebounds this year. Walker's situation is a big question mark. Jazz's lack of on-ball creation is a huge issue.
