This is really the bottom line. We also make way too many assumptions about what rich young athletes want. Sure many do want LA, NY, Miami. But many quite famously do not. And the cities being named itt as the worst would be among my personal favorites and I would hate the big 3 above. But its not about me.
But I also think this thread failed to explore terrible management first. I'd think my little Mavs moved from a top ten destination to maybe a bottom ten destination with this new regime in place of Cuban/Nelson/Carlisle. I think the Kings are going to be at the bottom not because of Sacramento but because of decades of incompetence. There is a reason they struggle to get the best prospects to work out there that other similar markets don't. Same with the Hornets. They inspire zero confidence. That stuff matters to players.
I'll confess that Charlotte was in my top 3, and that is 100% why.
Terrible management and ownership was deliberately scoped out of the thread. It wasn't an accidental omission.
