Prediction draft sounds good - 10 players again and we can drop and add at a certain point again!

For example, you draft Charlotte and you have access to Kobe SGA Mourning etc.

You still have limitations like maximum one MVP, maximum additional two All NBA and maybe that would do

Yeah I like this idea. I might have been the one to pitch it.

1 MVP (or FMVP with All-NBA first- nerfs West and Kawhi)
1 All NBA First no MVP
2 Other All Stars

Is what we did last time

Prediction drafts aren’t my thing personally.

Last time we didn't complete the deciding of the draft, by the time Fade asked for rotations, we got too little of them. Don't know if there's a point running the draft if the deciding process was found impractical due to the long period in between

I'm always leery of running prediction drafts. The previous time I did it (way back in 2019-20), pretty much the same thing happened at the end.

Problem with games like that is that people regularly phase in and out of activity on this forum.

Someone being active when the draft happens may not be when it comes time to follow through.

Man, we’re really grasping at straws.

I still like the idea of picking franchises and building a team with players drafted by those franchises.

You select 3 teams:

For each team you select no more than 4 players.

Maximum 1 MVP or FMVP with an All NBA First
1 Other player who made an All NBA First Multiple Times
2 Other players who made an All Star team

Yes it should be a fine idea. I was just hesitant on whether to start signups or not given the latest signup struggles.

With that said, a Jason Kidd draft is also a fine idea. I just think the draft history one is more out of the ordinary and interesting, though might be somewhat research heavy.

I don't personally find it that research heavy.

Basketball reference has a complete draft history for every team and it can be sorted by win shares, points, assists, 3 pointers, or whatever else you want. It's also a shorter draft since it would only be 2 or 3 rounds- we could finish in a couple days.

https://www.basketball-reference.com/draft/

Franchise links towards the bottom (or to the right if you're on PC).

The main concern for me would be that in order to take a wise decision, you need to deep dive into 20-30 of those lists and pick between them. Not a simple task. We probably all know by heart most of the important cases but there are many confusing ones due to draft night trades. I still think it's doable

Yeah, I dunno. Its possible it won't garner interest. But for me personally a more typical draft just doesn't hold much interest at the moment.

That's just one person's perspective.

Outside of Snake's idea which is essentially a non-draft game, where regular drafts are concerned I'm really only interested in more restricted pools at this point.

No disrespect to Brogdon, but I don’t think his retirement warrants a game in his honor.

I think Jrue is on the low end- and he was only picked because he was a glue guy on multiple championship teams.

Same Pick Pairs.

I think we did it once, not sure when, so probably long enough ago.

You have restrictions on each and overall on the composition of your team (two MVPs/multi all NBA first, two other all stars?)
