2025 Preseason Thread

I'm rooting for Sexton to get to starting spot next to LaMelo. For right now I think he gives us the best chance to win and has the best chance to unlock the full potential of LaMelo by letting him play more off ball. Sexton can do a lot of what Terry was doing for the offense three years ago when we were good, But with more rim pressure and better defense. kon can come off the bench with mann For now.

Sexton, much like Rozier, isn't going to shut anyone down but at least has the mindset defensively to guard the more aggressive guard. Letting LaMelo rest makes a lot more sense than trying to solve the defense starting both Melo and Kon.

Kon handling the ball more and getting easier defensive matchups vs 2nd string players is our best bet for him to somewhat pay off his draft stock.

I'm glad Sexton may be more of the leader than Miles going forward. Hopefully Kon also grows into the role. Kon should be huge advantage off the bench this year.

ESPN did a computer projection of the entire NBA season. Means nothing of course, but it had the Hornets finishing as third worse in the Eastern Conference with 21 wins, and getting the 6th pick again in the draft.

So IF that scenario does happen, how much more patience will fans have with this new regime, and with the “core” players? How much more patience will all on this board have?

If we win less than 30 games, that means Melo (and probably Miller) was injured again.

We have enough talent, if healthy, on offense to be a competitive team. Especially in the East.

Game is on Fanduel and on local cable tonight. Curious if we see some of the veterans starting to sit out heading into regular season. Not sure if LaMelo really needs to play again before the season opener. I think he's good to go.

Moose’s hands haven’t looked terrible and he’s done some ok finishing and passes in congestion, he is showing the ability to not be a net negative on offence.

Memphis have a lot of starters out but unlike that first preseason game Charlotte are taking care of business. I feel a lot better about how the team is developing.

Offensively they are finding lots of open shots, defense is still tough

I think Kon needs to start. He's a good glue guy who can shoot 3's, something we haven't had on the wing in a while. And is playing defense well.
