Less than $30 million per season, it's a solid gamble for the Kings.

Not bad he’s looking really good too.

Honestly, good for Keegan, but based on what he's shown, it's too much. Also based on how the Kings treat him (basically turning him into a 3/D), they don't know what the "f" they're doing. Guy should be their third option, not asked to stand in the corner while old vets take their turns.

I think this is an overpay, keep in mind he is 25 years old going into his 4th season and came into the league at 22. He should be close to his prime, but if this is close to his prime then the money & length is too much.

So do the Kings plan to try to compete with Russ/Lavine/Demar/Keegan/Sabonis?

Lots of locked in money with low odds to even make the playoffs

The NBA would be a better league if there was a culture of earning your salary. Nothing against Murray, but he hasn't earned that contract. I know it's nothing new. This has been going on for decades, and that's the problem.

The quality of this league would change dramatically if contracts were unguaranteed.

What’s the % of the cap? Murray hasn’t shown enough to earn Josh Giddey money so this is surprising. Good for him though he locked in money to get 1 last payday. Kings though are truly a baffling organization

He may have been at his best, at least in terms of efficiency, in his rookie year. Efficiency has declined in each successive season.

Without Fox, can he reverse the decline in shooting?

Is he mostly a catch and shoot shooter or are they not going to rely on DeMar and LaVine to create their own shots any more?

After watching this RFA season play out they decided to give him this contract?

Vivek is really making it a point today to put the league on notice that the Kangs are back

I like Murray but this is terrible asset management.

I agree that's 100% an overpay unless he takes a few steps forward in progress. 4 years $100 million would have been at least a slight overpay IMO and closer to the type of risk he is worth. He's like a 5th starter on a good team or maybe a 4th starter on the Kings but overall he is getting paid too much unless he turns into a 10 3 point attempts per game player that knocks them down at 40+% year after year. .... last season he shot 6 a game at just a 34% clip which isn't good.

Total overpay. He looked good as a rookie, but especially his 3 point shooting has strongly regressed since then.

In comparsion, Jaden McDaniels got a 5 year, 136 Million extension while being 2 years younger and a better defender with more upside at the point of the extension. Rui Hachimura signed a 3 year, 51 Million extension as a pretty similar player production wise while also being younger at the time he signed the contract.

King fans were wanting 4/100 or 5/125. So ehh…an extra 15 over 5 years.

Is he even good? 12 points and 6 rebounds last years earned $140 million?

He defends 1-4. Since his rookie year they asked him to up his defense and last year his rebounding…he did. If Sac had anyone else to defend forwards he could go back to 15-18 points a night easily.

Weird market seeing what some guys have had to settle for while Murray basically peaked in his rookie year and stagnated since still manages to get paid.
