I feel like it's more of a bullpen game with Max starting off. He'll likely be on a very short leash.

If it’s bullpen game, Bieber should pitch the 7th today

I don't think it will be a bullpen game, at least that won't be the intention going in. Max getting shelled early is always a possibility so it could turn into a bullpen game quickly, but I think they are anticipating a normal start for him. Which is insane, but I guess there's no other alternative if they didn't want to start Bassitt.

They must have really liked how his stuff looked last week in that sim game

Otherwise I have no clue at all why they wouldn’t have started Bassitt, he’s been the far better pitcher this year

This FO has been rolling the dice and coming up aces all year this year - Max might just throw a quality start because baseball.

I don’t trust their judgment at all but I suppose anything is possible

I think they had this bizarre idea about how Bassitt “does weird good“. They got distracted by wanting Bassitt to fill in/be versatile for various situations. Problem is the more important decision is who should pitch game 4. And that’s clearly Chris.

So you agree. The captain and the real MVP of this team is Vlad and they’ll go as far as he takes them.

I can’t believe that anyone is arguing that Guerrero is the catalyst for this offense. We have a good supporting cast but we need Vlad to really take us over the top.
