My initial thought is that picking a top 2 conference favorite to win the East is not bold.

But then I remembered it's the Knicks we're talking about.

How very bold of you indeed, good sir.

We will see, i do not see 5 western teams being worse than this freaking team. I think that thread about winning it all was sarcasm...

I can see Utah, Phoenix, New Orleans and Memphis being worse, I think Portland finishes above and all the other teams are for sure better. This Kings team is super incompetent imo.

Yeh I remember your predictions :) you were one of the first in that thread. Mem could be wild card, Is Ja healthy stay out of trouble? Can Edey step up etc, wish JJJ didn't get injured oh well. I'll be happy to even make half of my predictions right lols.

Kings best guy is empty stats guy who stinks, their second best guy is empty stats guy who stinks, their third best guy is empty stats guy who stinks, their only pf is hurt and isnt very good anyway and their pointguars are Shroeder and Westbrick. As I said yesterday, this team building is in a ball park with peak Javale McGee Nick Young Wizards, everything about Kings roster is bad IMO.

My another boldish prediction, Sabonis requests a trade. I think Kings start the season horribly as they have very hard early schedule and Sabonis wants out, because he has delusion that he is very good and he has history of making waves.

Fair enough. Let's make it a bit bolder: The Knicks will win the NBA championship next summer.

I mean i know the East sucks but common... It's the hornets

For the first time in a long time i can't think of bold prediction myself. I think teams are neatly put into tiers and even among the players i don't see anyone making an insane leap or insane regression.

I'm being serious, the Hornets were missing LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller for large parts of last season. They made a couple of sneaky roster upgrades too. And the East looks to be putrid this year

But yes it is still a bold prediction because this is Hornets we're talking about

I started writing to disagree but you are right. Sexton is an upgrade, full season of mann, Kalkbrenner has impressed during the pre season… the main thing is, can Ball and Miller stay on court?

It's hard for me with some teams, but for the opposite reason, because teams are too unknown. Bulls could have the number 1 pick or be in the play-in, and neither of those would be a surprise for me. Matas could have a horrible season or run for MIP, and both wouldnt be surprising, at least for me.

Memphis is also hard, lost Bane, Ja and JJJ still worry health or trouble wise, no big names added.

Even the Bucks, being number 3 or play-in, neither would be surprise.

Of the teams that sucked last year, I wanted to say Pelicans go big, but then I remember they have Poole and I can't trust that at all. Heat were 10 and I can't see them going higher than the play-in...

Would the Mavericks missing the playoffs be bold?

I will add it here:
MIP - Diabate: will average 13/13 with 1.5 steal and 1.5 blocks per game(up from 5/6/0.6/0.6): will benefit the most with a healthy Ball + Kon surprising rookie year.

My prediction is that the Jazz will absolutely refuse to win more than 20 games this year. They will play the Cody Williams and Svi Mykhailiuk lineup with Kevin Love at the 5 as much as it takes. Not bold, I know.

Somewhat bold is that I think the Lakers are a 6 or 7 seed. They don't have enough shooting or defense, even if Luka plays his ass off. Lebron isn't going to try to carry them either. He's too cool for that. They'll fall behind OKC, DEN, HOU, MIN, LAC, and possibly GSW.

Post your bold(ish) predictions and let's compare in April?
I guess at least 3 of my predictions are like +800 from betting perspective, so make it as bold as possible too

Of those, I think Clippers one is the boldest one, they are so deep, even if they are old... Chris paul, brook Lopez, Bogdan, Dunn, Derrick Jones off the bench is just great. Unless injuries destroy them altogether...

Bulls can happen, I really like Giddey, but Matas has to step it up and Noa surprise us. Pat Williams is just worthless. From last year, they will surpass Boston and Pacers because of injuries? Then they just have to be better than one of Hawks or Pistons... not outlandish.

Orlando will be great.

Spurs I'm skeptical as a fan, but Wemby can be that good

Good thing I have lots of history of being correct in 20 years on this board I can bump any time. The only thing you MAY get correct is Orlando.

The Spurs are a year away from top 3 IMO. Clippers were 50 wins, not in the playoffs in despite Kawhi missing 65+ games.. and with a far less talent. But somehow despite adding 13 wins of value and having Kawhi 100% healthy going into the season they will DROP off a lot? Yea no.

Lastly the Bulls are in the same boat as the Hornets. Dangerous any given night and will win a few more than expected but 6 seed is a reach.

Kelly Oubre will lead the Sixers in total FGA on the season.

Ace Bailey will average 18 a game.

Draymond and Jimmy get into a nut-punching contest.

Quin Snyder will retire so he can take over for Willem Dafoe.

Balmer will order the other owners to give him the appearance of punishment while maintaining innocence.
