GAME 3

Post#21 » by esqtvd » Thu Oct 16, 2025 4:42 am

Beat the KINGS 109-91. Watched on a pirate feed. It wasn't this close--it was a 29-point lead after 3.

Clippers hit a lot of shots. Kings were ass. Kawhi played an easy breezy 27 minutes. Clippers bench in ~18 minutes:

Dunn +30
Brooks +26, 6-8, 3-4
CP3 +24, 10 asst
Collins +24 7-8, 2-2
Batum +15

Jordan Miller got the start and was OK I guess: 2-4, 1-1, 7/5/0, minus-1

Brooks/Collins 13/16 is gonna win you some games

The Clippers second unit looked really good against the Kings. Starting five not so much.

Watched the first half of last night's game against the queens. When was the last time we have a backup 5 that good? Probably never. CP3 looked good last night, definitely still has enough in the tank to help this game.

I caved in and paid $150 for NBA league pass. I watched the entire game.

Clippers are a separate package in LA. League Pass is only out of town games. ClipperVision is now merged with FanDuel, expected price $108.

Last year League Pass was discounted to $99. I'm waiting. Otherwise, it's pirate feeds for me, which go in and out and you have to watch out for viruses.

GAME 4

Post#26 » by esqtvd » Sat Oct 18, 2025 6:58 am

Kawhi, Beard, Brooks and CP all sat. Beal 12 points in 15 minutes--his midrange jumper is a weapon. Bogie was back.

Clippers scrubeenies looked like a team and played most of the minutes while Steph played 30. 20 TOs--mostly in the 1st half--but ended with THIRTY assists! Some nice playmaking out there.

Neiderhauser played 26 minutes--13 pts, 11 rebs, 2 blk. KobeB played 27 minutes and was mostly ass. And the breakout star was...the OTHER Kobe!

Yanic Kohan and Kobe Sanders looked good. As of right now I don't think Kobe Brown gets another contract from us.

Deep team this year. Hopefully health stays on our side.

Watched some/most of the last three preseason games. Thoughts about the young(er) guys:

Kobe Brown. Not gonna happen. Jordan Miller. Maybe ... but probably not going to happen. For both of them, it’s kind of a similar issue. When they’re effective, they are productive. But when they’re not, they’re a net minus. And they’re either not nearly as productive or have a lot less time being productive, so their minuses are markedly bigger. It’s the kind of thing that time and experience can sometimes help with—but at a certain point, it’s just not gonna happen. Kobe Brown is there. Jordan Miller—not all the way, but kind of there.
Kobe Sanders—Incomplete, but more promising. The thing for Sanders—and the first two—is about how he does as a part of the whole. Does he fit in? Does he help even when the ball isn’t in his hands—or his shot isn’t falling? Sanders strikes me as a player that lets the game come to him more than Brown or Miller. His minuses are smaller. He could help out.
Cam Christie—Promising. Very good scoring, Pretty good handles, pretty good D. So young! He’s a keeper.
Yanic Konan Niederhauser—Promising. Isn’t as out of control as I thought he’d be. His physical ability is huge. His basketball IQ is just fair at this point, but he's still an overall plus. If it gets good, he’ll be a valuable rotation player.

A few thoughts about some of the older guys:

Kawhi looks better, earlier, than he has in close to a decade.
In the minutes he plays, CP3 is playing like a guy five years younger … so a 35 year old. But a really good 35 year old.
Lopez and Collins look like good pickups.
Harden shooting stroke looks rusty, but playmaking and generalship are (still) huge.
Beal distance stroke looks rusty, but he’s a plus even with that.
Dunn and Jones are total glue guys. Great to have them around.
