Well, at least Thenasis is a competent defender.

How does that make Bronny a better player?

if he ends up being a rotation player, its a miracle. if not, is this really altering the lakers as an organization?

You’re actually defending using a roster spot for “LeBron’s legacy” when there are hundreds of guys (superior to bronny at basketball) who spent their whole life working for that roster spot?

LeBorn strong armed the Lakers into signing his kid. Just another reason LeBorn needs to go.

Have to agree that many times the reads he's saying players should make are not there in real time, and some of his defensive criticisms of individuals are scheme based.

Doesn't mean he gets everything wrong, he get stuff right too, but many times, I'm just like, meh

No one cares about LeBron's legacy other than LeBron. Bronny might be a good kid and a decent hooper, but he's taking a spot from a better player solely from nepotism. And that's a problem.

To a similar degree, we need look no further than the trio of Antetokounpos in MIL.

Agreed. But it was funny this time.

And Bronny for sure doesn't look even close to an NBA prospect. He's been given a chance but not only he has almost no progress - he's not even bothered to play with energy. Seems that in his head, he's entitled to what has been given to him. Doesn't seem really aware that if it wasn't for his father he wouldn't even sniff playing in NBA.

There are many videos like that one.

It's a waste of a roster spot from a purely basketball perspective- he's not good enough to be on an NBA team.

But the Lakers absolutely view keeping Lebron happy as a better use of their 15th roster spot than whatever small contributions a better 15th man would provide.

I get why many wouldn't like that. I particularly get why people who would otherwise be in contention for that 15th spto would be particularly resentful.

But it's the system we've got. Superstars carry this kind of power. Its what keeps 2 of Giannis's brothers employed by the NBA too.

That's OK, nobody expects anything from the 15th spot. It's just that the press and media are insufferable praising him. And he's taking up the minutes of guys who could actually use them.

Its not just about filling that spot with a better player.

Sometimes it's better to keep that spot open for trade flexibility. You might need to take back more players then you send out to make salaries match.

Keeping a low floor, low ceiling player doesn't have any purpose at all. Doesn't serve the team in any way whatsoever.

See, at least you are being productive. I just don't like posts complaining and hating for no reason. If this thread is about making the Lakers better, I want to hear how we can make that happen.

That being said, while Bronny sucks, all these players you listed above are also trash. It's similar to if I said I can't run a marathon any faster, and you pointed out that I had a piece of yarn stuck to my shirt, and took the yarn off for me, saying the lighter weight will help me run a marathon faster. True in technical terms, but in practicality, the difference is so minimal, it is not even measurable.

If Lakers signed one of these guys and dropped Bronny, what impact do you think it makes on their record? I'd say any one of these guys results in 1 more Laker win through 82 games and I think I"m being very generous. I'm also confident none of these guys help them win a single playoff game and would only get garbage minutes in the playoffs.

Basically we're arguing over something that, even were it to happen, has no discernable impact over any of our lives or any of the basketball we watch. I will at least admit I'm wasting my time, but will you guys?

For the 55th pick in the draft he gets people.talking about him. His Jersey sales alone make the roster spot worth it.

Why do we need a thread about the 15th roster spot on any team? Who cares? 15th man on any team rarely plays and rarely contributes anything.

Because fringe NBA players like the 15th man usually have to bust their ass and earn that spot. That's what this discussion is really about. Those guys might bounce around Latin America or Europe or China before finding a G-League roster spot and then maybe showing an NBA team they have something to offer.

They don't usually stink it up for one year in college, then still get drafted, and then get a guaranteed NBA contract. It's shameful and an insult to those guys who are grinding in other leagues just to get a look from an NBA scout.

This is sports, where your performance matters. It shouldn't be treated like a white collar corporate job where the boss hires his nephew to work the mail room.

People bringing up Giannis and his bros but what does that have to do with Bronny? Classic whataboutism. One doesn't make the other acceptable.

Lol The Secret of My Success? The boss hires his nephew Michael J Fox to work in the mailroom. That statement made me think of that movie.
