Darnold probably deserves to be in that conversation too.

What are the odds that any of Baker, Jones, or Darnold are even in the MVP conversation at the end of the year?

The MVP award and voting process has become so fraudulent and narrative based that they just need to rename it and/or split it into separate categories (QB's and non-QB's). It's just become a list of the starting QB's on the teams with the best records. Like, Dak has played just as good if not better than any QB yet he has zero chance at it because the Cowboys aren't gonna crack the double digit win mark. Allen winning it over Lamar last season was an absolute joke and proof that it's now a 100% a narrative/popularity contest award.

Because im to lazy to look it up what are the odds on Love right now to win it?

If GB cracks 13 wins I dont think its far fetched with his current pace

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Cynical me see the author/website trying to boost clicks by selling hope to a large market. Just like many years, sports sites tell Jets and Giant fans that this season is their year to contend. Then week two comes and reality bites

Win the turnover battle 3-0 and still need a last second FG to win. I am cool if that's what they want their culture to be.

Following up on this, was listening to a podcast this morning and they listed these 5 QBs as in the MVP discussion currently

Baker Mayfield
Jared Goff
Jordan Love
Sam Darnold
Daniel Jones

What a weird group of QBs

Definitely goes back to the saying that QBs don't fail, organizations fail QBs

QB's don't fail....except for all the ones that do lol. Baker actually was good in Cleveland though. Goff was good in LA and led the Rams to a Super Bowl. Darnold's really the only dude that looked like an epic bust right away before sitting for a few years and developing like he should have from the beginning.

Gotta love these NFL media clowns on social media making sure to point out it was ex-Packer Jordy Nelson who upheld Branch's suspension.

Baker was decent in Cleveland but never this good, same for Goff in LA. Which is why both of those were trying to upgrade on them. Baker also then went to Carolina as well. We'll see if what Daniel Jones is doing is sustainable but he was definitely written off as a bust. Of course some QBs might just be bad(Anthony Richardson), but I think this season is showing the difference between good organizations for QBs and bad ones.

Oh bad organizations can absolutely ruin a young QB. I just don't think any of those besides Darnold are good examples. I don't think Daniel Jones is playing at any drastically different level than he was in 2022 when even the Giants finally realized "hey, just focus on managing the game and using your mobility" and led them to within a game of the NFCCG. Only difference is that he now has a way better defense and a wealth of skill position weapons around him.

Scheme and organization matter in the NFL. Not exactly ground breaking news

There's still players that are busts because they just dont have that "it" to make it in the NFL

To my eyes, Justin Fields often looked lost in Chicago, mostly ignored in Pittsburg, and regressing in New York

To be fair none of those organizations are known for developing QBs

Idk man, nobody this year thought any of those guys would be playing anywhere near the levels they are at. All had to take 1 year prove it deals at some point to get another shot as a starter
