What the absolute f*** Sacramento!? 5 years $140 million for Keegan Murray??? That makes Pat's contract look like a bargain.

Malcolm Brogdon retiring.

He was rumoured to be making the Knicks roster and they were looking to unload Dadiet, so I guess they'll just keep him now.

I'm not sure what the Kings are doing, Westbrook, LaVine, DeRozan and Sabonis all need the ball in their hands to be effective and Zach is the only reliable floor spacer. Plus 28m per for Keegan Murray? Yikes.

Did the Kings just screw up the market?

I understand Murray is still on potential and has had flashes but that is a lot. Especially since he played and used as a 4th option.

Unless they feel he has been nerfed by playing with Demar and Zach, this probably wont age well.

Just wow. I mean, a team could collect 100 Keegan Murrays and it would never be anything but a bottom-level lottery team.

Do you think it's possible to screw up the market in this current CBA/apron rules? Maybe the RFA situation this summer was unique but i really don't think stupid deals are going to be as damaging for the rest of the league. There's a hard salary cap essentially so with all the big money on the books there feels like there's less money out there and teams are more afraid than ever of overpaying a guy even an extra 5 million a year.

I probably woulda given Murray the P-Will deal, not much more. HIs absolute ceiling appears to be 4th best player on a really awesome team.

By the VORP measure, in Keegan's best year (which was not last season) he would have been the 4th best Bulls last season, a smidge ahead of Jalen Smith, Coby White, and Tre Jones.

The Kings continue handing their beer to AK, building the strangest, longest-tenured play-in team ever.

Keegan Murray is a better basketball player than all of those guys, don't agree with the numbers there. If the Kings offered Murray for White straight up even after the extension i believe most smart GMs would say yes in a heartbeat.

Keegan better defender
Keegan better rebounder
Coby better shooter
Coby better passer
Coby better leader
Coby better clutch
Coby better in up tempo

Keegan beats him in a small role. That's it.

Was I the only one who thought that Joker looked way heavier than last year? Like 20lbs+

I remember thinking last year that while he wasn't ripped, he didn't look objectively overweight...the guy I saw against the Bulls looked fat. I love to watch that guy and just worry about his durability. Watching him is like seeing a sumo wrestler, with the vision/skill of a quarterback with the grace of a ballerina...he is so effortless in his ability to move guys out of the way and spin around them to score at will or pass anywhere on the court.

Drives per game last season -

Coby 12.5
Pat 4.5
Keegan 3.8

Which is why Coby draws 4x as many fouls as Keegan and gets 3x as many assists. He's an overall offensive player, whereas Keegan is solely a shooter. Now, if Keegan were to shot like prime Klay, that would be OK. But he's nothing like that level, just another NBA wing who makes 35% of his 3s on medium volume.

Raptors released Ulrich Chomche. I'd really like for the Bulls to sign him to a 2-way (release Miller).

Major project big, but could be a good gamble as a long term big.
