Chomche was a nothing prospect. You don’t spend 5 years developing a back up center when they’re available on the scrap heap every summer. He didn’t have any outlier physical traits that were worth the long game.

Probably not . In fact it’s likely the opposite. Less cost over luxury threshold with 14 players lineup instead of 15

The two ways contract are brutal from a player standpoint IMO. You can be cut anytime. It’s very rare (didn’t say impossible) to get a chance. No loyalty from the organization.

Obviously i am making a blanket general statement. Maybe it’s less brutal in reality.

I will be surprised if Chomche ends up as an NBA player after this, but I reserve the right to be furious if it happens.

WTF kind of problem does Bobby Webster against players 6' 10" and taller?

Unless he has career-ending injury, waiving young player with low risk (and salary) that the team spent development resources on is a mistake. Especially when the said guy is the only big man prospect worth a damn because GM refuses to use draft/FA/trade resources to go get one.

Fair to say that Bobby needs his next move to be for C depth.

If it's going to be for another scrub from G league garbage bin like previous years. What is the point?

Unless he sustained a career ending injury like Koloko.

He wasn’t any good.

damn. had some hopes for chomche but I'm guessing there's stuff involved there that maybe we're not privy to. but yeah, maybe he really was a masai project and there were no plans for him once he got cut loose.

makes it even more imperative that we get a young big in the system. they can't seriously expect mogbo or even cmb to be the answer there. you will always need size/length in this league, even just as an option.

at the very least it's good to have clarity on things. if the lack of care towards Cs with size is a Bobby thing, then he needs his head checked.

What makes you think there'd be anyone out there at this point? We've had nothing but scrubs for bigs for years outside Poeltl. Not like they didn't have chances to add someone.

He was way too raw. What a joke it was around here with people saying he was going to replace Yak on day. Not even in the same universe, let alone tier of centres.

As expected it seems Ulrich might have a similar situation to Koloko and that’s why he was cut. I knew Bobby wouldn’t just cut him if it were a regular injury. I wish him the best, but we’ve seen how much Koloko hasn’t been able to find his footing since his medical issue
