I think the key to this game is making sure we don't score until at least the 3rd inning. When we've scored early this series, we lose. When we wait, we win.
Lets sweep the away games. Then on to game 6.

Re: ALCS Game #5 - Toronto at Seattle (Friday, 6:08)
I could see the jays putting Barger back at third and loperfido into left field.
The mariners will have barely any left hand pitching except for hancock who hasnt been good. Speir had +30 pitches going into late afternoon game so hard to see him entering the game. Don't even have to balance the batting order. Just load up on the lefties.
Ikf out. Clement to 2nd. Barger to 3rd. Loperfido to outfield. Gives us 5 lefties in the batting order and no answers from mariners.
Barger, Varland, Gimenez, Loperfido, Varsho.
Davis for pinch hitting. Ikf for pinch running/defense. Straw for pitch-running/defense.
It was a very bad decision for the Mariners to put Speir out for +30 pitches early in the game. That's why we didnt sub in Davis for Barger in the third inning. It guaranteed rightys for the the next 6 innings.
Ir's kinda crazy how imbalanced the mariners pitching staff is. Their only weakness and now Speir is toasted.
Bad move by Mariners to sacrifice everything (including veraatility for tomorrow) for that scenario so esrly in the game.
The only righty/righty matchups they wil have are our four best hitters: springer, vlad, kirk, clement. Everything else will be righty/lefty.

Putting Varland in the batting order is one of those moves that, if it works out, will be talked about in hushed tones for decades. If it doesn't, it will be laughed about for centuries.

Interesting choice by the M's there they treated this like a game 7 basically with Castillo pulled after 2.1 (pretty much had a start like Bieber did in game 3 vs NYY). They basically went all out to win this game and it backfired pretty bad with Spierer out till game 6.

I love my fellow Jays fans but there a lot of p***ies out there for a lack of a better word. Mariners were never as good as fans made out to be. They showed they were just as good as the Tigers but fans were afraid of them. Reality is that so far it's not 3-1 or a sweep because the Blue Jays beat themselves to begin the series. Blue Jays are the better team even without Bo and Santander.

Re: ALCS Game #5 - Toronto at Seattle (Friday, 6:08)
The Mariners are a good team but they have a 48 year old monkey on their backs and that usually matters on a mental level. We've seen it before with the Leafs. Just when they look like they're going to do something they haven't done in half a century, they tighten up right before the finish line. It doesn't matter how many different rosters try it, the same scenario tends to occur whenever they get to a certain point.
If the team is strong enough or have enough robotic guys where pressure doesn't matter to them (a couple of Kawhi types), they can push through that monkey. We'll see how the Mariners respond.

It's crazy how Toronto sports has traumatized all to a point where we go full doomer at the first sign of adversity. This team just beat up Fried and Rodon to make it here. They're currently the 7th best playoff offence all-time in MLB history. Baseball is a high variance sports where there will be games where even the best struggle. It's a 7 game series. Gotta keep the faith.

They’re banking on Woo pitching quality innings today I expect
Which he will probably do
One flew east, one flew west, one flew over the cuckoo’s nest.

That's exactly what I've been thinking. I will never tell someone how to be a fan and that's what makes the beauty of all of this with all gut reactions but if some of y'all were my teammates and acting like this in front of adversity I would shake the sh*t out of some of y'all lol.

Jays need to treat Miller like the scrub he is. He was nothing special in Game 1 with his Fastballs, but they treated him like he was Prime Roger Clemens (lol). Looking back, Game 1 was so embarrassing. Maybe this team needed a few games to get going after that emotional series against New York. Glad they get a second chance against this scrub.

All my words are true and still correct.
I'm happy to be the jinx to get a winning outcome but now that you are involved, you have reverse-jinxed it.

Another easy W. We're winning 4 straight.
