yeah, at least a 30% chance of a loss, so it shouldn't take anyone by surprise if it happens

Wishful thinking has me hopeful Dennis Allen's familiarity with NO will give the Bears a slight edge.

That could work both ways.

Ben Johnson said DJ's injury was "of a personal nature", hopefully he'll be ready to play this weekend, but if not, it will give Luther Burden more chances.

Hard to believe this hasn't 't been done before: "With his performance over the Commanders, Williams became the first quarterback in Bears franchise history to throw for at least 200 yards and one touchdown in each of the team's first five games, per Courtney Cronin."

I mean, they described it as a “groin” injury and he went to the hospital for observation, but was able to complete the game, so it seems pretty likely he’s got something testicular going on.

Joe Flacco looking good tonight- better than Aaron Rodgers, who has thrown 2 picks in the first half.

I think we (and the rest of the league) has a very rare opportunity to add pass rush talent for dirt cheap prices. We desperately need pass rushers and I think there will be multiple 10+ sack potential players available. The two that come to mind are jaelan phillips and Kayvon Thibodeaux. I think it would be easier and cheaper to get Phillips because of his injury history and the fact that the Dolphins are a dumpster fire right now. Thibodeaux might be on the block since the Giants have Burns and just drafted Carter. I think for sure, we can get Phillips for a 4th and future 5th and possibly Thibs. I'd be happy with either.

On top of that, if we can get a top tier DT for Dexter and a 3rd, we should make that move as well. The most probable is Jeffery Simmons but I would also put a call into the Jets about Quinnen Williams (who apparently has be subject to trade rumors). I could possibly be convinced to do a 2nd and Dexter for him. But if the jets for whatever reason, want to do a 3rd all the better. But, that's extremely unlikely. I'd also put a call into the Giants and see what a potential price for Dexter Lawrence would be, and when they say 2 1sts, I tell them have a good day and move on.

I can understand push back on making a trade if it involved a 1st or 2nd, but giving up two or three mid round picks for guys in their prime or on their rookie deals, I think it's 100% a no brainer to make those trades.

4th and 2027 5th for Jaelan Phillips or Thibs
3rd and Dexter for Simmons (or if by a miracle from football god, Quinnen Williams)

That would set us up with a very good to elite DL, I think. At worst, Phillips (or thibs) is a rotational DE for the rest of the season and step in as a starter next season. Or what I think has a great chance of happening, they take Dayo's spot by the end of the season and we cut him in the off-season. Then when (if) Jaylon Johnson comes back, we have top 10 defense potential. All without giving up significant draft capital, staying young, and keep flexibility in the off-season with FAs and our 1st and 2nd round picks

Yea, Rodgers is getting a little loose with the ball, but that second pick wasn't really his fault. I'd be surprised if they don't make a major move at the deadline for an offensive weapon. I think they're like 29th in yards going into this game and Rodgers doesn't really target anyone other than DK. I wouldn't be surprised if we eventually hear about them calling the saints about basically any of their weapons.

I think we need to operate with the idea that Williams will be a top-level QB next season. The window for his rookie deal will begin to close, and I think we need to go *almost* all in. And I think that starts with this season's deadline.

Trade Deadline:
Trade 4th and 5th for Kayvon Thibs
Trade 3rd and Dexter for Jeffery Simmons

Off-season trades:
Kmet for 4th or 5th
Stevenson for 4th or 5th

Potential Cuts:
1. Swift (depends on his play the rest of the season. If he plays like he did against Washington, I think he plays out his contract)

2. Byrd (So far, he's played at a high level but older so I think we could be in a position to cut hi,m considering there'd be little dead cap. Best case scenario is we have the cap to keep him and draft his eventual replacement, Caleb Downs).

3. Edmunds (I want to cut him but I don't think we have a viable replacement. Don't know much about the LB prospects yet, but it doesn't look like there's a significant upgrade in FA, right now)

4. Dayo

Free agents:
Greg Newsome, CB
Breece Hall or JK Dobbins, RB (assuming we cut Swift)

Draft:
A lot of flexibility with our roster being mostly filled out and us having our 1st, 2nd, and multiple mid-round picks

Yeah that game v. CIN is suddenly looking a lot tougher. Flacco was almost flawless last night, and stopping Chase and Higgins is a tough task.

We are getting healthy. Garrett coming back is big. Need it. Moore is a tank!

I don’t understand how a kicker gets injured. I hope Moody can do what he did again.

Why do our base have a love fest with backups? I guaranteed after Monday night game the Commanders fans are not crying for their backup CW is getting better as the season goes on.

Daniels is proven and already has two playoff victories under his belt. What has Caleb done? Other than lead the league in misfired throws of course

Please Jayden is not proven two playoff wins doesn't mean anything. The fact is Jayden was in a better situation last season so we are judging careers after 22 games is that we are doing?

Hahahahaha.

Love to see it!

Aikman comes across as a country club a$$ so often. Like he’s among the NFL elite and can judge everyone else. He had a great career but it’s so worn and tired when guys do that.

I remember everyone saying the same "better situation" thing when comparing Mitch to Mahomes. I don't buy that excuse at all last year. Washington got Jayden via the #2 pick... That they had on their own merit of sucking. Bears own pick was #9, the #1 was due to Carolina sucking. The skins roster wasn't loaded last year. They just made a major upgrade at QB.

Again we are judging careers after 22 games so let's trade Caleb and put Jayden in the Hall of Fame we're talking about Caleb and Jayden not Mitch and Patrick . You're not making any sense no rookie Quarterback could have succeeded with the hand Cabel was dealt.

He was given DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, and Odunze. Kmet had a good year the season prior with fields as well. Fields got alot more out of DJ than Caleb did. Keenan Allen's #s with the chargers speak for themselves. Last year Caleb turned him into a pumpkin. This year he's back in LA. Though of course not in his prime anymore, but he's still relevant again.

22 games is a pretty big sample size. While i do still hope that Caleb puts it together and becomes an elite QB, not much to this point shows it. Dead last in misfired pass % (per MNF stats graphic) is a bad indication that he doesn't have the accuracy to be elite. That's besides the fact that he also just misses guys open (by not passing to them. Monangai on that 2pt was a perfect example). So lacking both accuracy and vision
