I don't blame them for not going all-in during the offseason. Nobody could have known they would be this good, and it was time to give the younger guys a chance to earn their keep. I don't really blame them for not making more trades at the deadline either; other than Ortiz, it wasn't obvious where upgrades were needed anyway, and a SS upgrade was not necessarily available. Vaughn, Jansen, and Miller were the right calls. Lockridge was just a AAAA guy in exchange for an injured surplus starter.
That said, I will scream bloody murder if they don't invest in the team this offseason. I know the Dodgers were a juggernaut, but they won 100 games many times before breaking through in the playoffs, and if any of their aging stars are hurt in the playoffs next year, they will be more vulnerable. This series was hopeless, but let's stay rational about next year and not put more weight on 4 games against one of the 5 most talented rosters MLB has seen since the Ruth/Gehrig Yankees than we put on the other 167 games they played this year.
Trade Freddy though. I'm all-in, so that might seem contradictory, but I just don't really believe in him, so I don't consider keeping him a good all-in move.
