Do you guys think Jokic will keep improving into next season, or has he probably already peaked?

I’m pretty sure his box score won’t be as crazy, since the Nuggets have gained depth and now he has a backup center.
I’m talking per 100 possessions. Do you think he’ll keep improving his 3%? Will having better teammates allow him to rack up even more assists? Not having to play so many minutes and being able to finish games without gasping for air will help him make better decisions? Maybe translated to even slightly better TS% and fewer turnovers?

Or, on the contrary, do you think that if the new roster works and the team stays in a good seed, Jokic will go into cruise control mode to stay fresh for the playoffs?

I’m not really sure how a body like Jokic’s “works,” or what we can expect physically from him as he approaches 31. Do you think, for example, his rebounding numbers will go down or stay the same-ish?

It would be almost impossible for him to improve his three point percentage except maybe because of the new heave rule. But in reality it would be very unlikely his three pointer could be better than it was last season.

The only improvement I want from Jokic next season is to not be terrified of Alex Caruso in a do-or-die elimination game. I can't believe that after all the hardwork for months since training camp up to game 7, he lost the will to fight and took one shot in the 2nd half of the most important game last postseason. It's not like the game is not winnable anymore they are down by 16 points and the Wolves comeback from 20 points deficit against his own team in the same situation just last year. I hope they make the NBA Finals this time around and win it all again.

And despite his body he's one of the few superstars that still plays almost every night.

He's never played under 69 games in his career, and routinely plays 72-77 games.

I think we are basically seeing his peak. I wouldn't be surprised to see him add some more wrinkles to his game, but I don't really see anywhere that he'd be be feasibly able to improve that would lead to a "jump".

The one question with Jokic's health has always been his wrist (and last year an elbow bruise). His distance shooting percentage seems to rise and fall with it, so maybe if he plays fewer minutes, it might be more likely to stay healthy. But really, his 3p% last year was pretty excellent by his standards and I can't imagine it going up too much.

I could imagine his TS% going up if he's taking less shots if the team is better/healthier, but that wouldn't be much of an "improvement" in his game, just a shift in usage.

I can imagine his defense "improving" this year. I talked about it a number of times last year, but the departure of KCP, the remaining Nuggets' guards inability to get through screens, and then Malone's response of having Jokic come out further/hedge harder really did not play to his strengths. By the playoffs, Braun at least was doing better at getting through screens and they looked a bit better. If this year's team is better in that area, I think Jokic's defense will look much improved, but again, it's not so much him as the situation.

He's done improving. Any improvement would lead to a decline somewhere else like how his interior scoring declined while his outside shooting improved. He's also a second round pick so I don't see him adding extra things we haven't seen before

He doesn't seem to have a scorer mindset, just scores big when the game flows in that direction.
He looks after the best shot, and in some plays it happens to be shooting himself.

But when his mates are not up to par, he seems unable to do that switch.

I.e. Caruso and Dort guarding him should've had been a 3 point contest from Jokic.

Those were/are MVP stats. He didn't because Embiid had an insane season (some would put an *, I don't) and the voters being -logically- hesitant to reward him a 3rd consecutive MVP.

He did an interview with some kid where he told the kid to try to do something better every day. He's going to find something to do better this season even if his numbers are down.

- More assertive scoring when the team needs it
- Being aggressive against defensive mismatches on him
- Improving his defensive impact (not necessarily stats)

That's what the team needs from him and I think he knows it.
